DO YOU COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You know those people on Instagram, the ones who seem to have it all together? Who are able to manage their personal lives and their business so seamlessly - and look good while doing it?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m here to tell you that they probably don’t have it as together as you think they do. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #Shocker, I know!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So stop comparing yourself to somebody else who you think is waaaay further ahead then you, and instead focus on the end result of why you’re doing what you’re doing.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Did you start your business because you wanted a better work/life balance? Or to feel like you’re making a positive impact in the world?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Or, did you start your business to feel like you’re in control of your career instead of waiting for somebody else to tell you that you’re doing a great job and hit you with a raise?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If your ultimate end result is more sales in your business, ask yourself why you want more sales, then focus on that answer to map out how you can make that happen.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Focusing on that first visible step towards your end result - instead of focusing on what other people are doing - is what will get you unstuck in your business and propel you forward. DID YOU KNOW THAT SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE FAIL MORE?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s true - some of the most successful people in the world today have faced massive rejection in their lives. Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, and yes, even Oprah Winfrey have all experienced brutal rejection at some point. What made them successful though is that they faced the rejection and kept moving forward despite it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Successful people don’t get to be successful without putting themselves out there. They know the likelihood of rejection is high, but they put their big girl pants on and keep asking for what they want - and eventually, it pays off!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sometimes the course of your life and business is determined by chance, great timing, or plain ol’ serendipity. But other times (and some would argue most of the time) it’s deliberate action on your part that determines your success or failure.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Look, we all know that rejection sucks - big time. It’s hard not to take it personally and it’s even harder to keep putting yourself out there when it feels like all you’re hearing is “no.” But think about it this way: it only takes one “yes” to completely change your life. And while it might feel like it’s taking forever to finally hear “YES,” once you do it makes all of the rejection worth it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So go ahead and apply for that grant or that keynote, and know that even if you do get rejected this time you’re one rejection closer to acceptance next time.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Let me know what you think in the comments below! Maybe it’s more work/life balance, or more sales in your business. Figuring this part out is a crucial first step because if you don’t know where you want to go how on earth are you ever going to get there?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Then decide on the quickest and most efficient first step that you can take right now to get yourself to your end result. If you want more sales in your biz, maybe it’s putting out an amazing freebie that will make it easy for your audience to take the next step to work with you.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Park the other things on your to-do list or delegate out what you can. Do you really need to do the meal planning, or is that something that someone else could take care of? Is social media for your biz really something that you have the time or energy to manage, or could you hire an assistant to take over?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Whatever it is, I’m giving you permission right now to cut your to-do list down and really focus on the end result you’re looking for, and then see how quickly and easily you can get to that result without trying to do all of the things all of the time.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Go ahead and tag a friend who needs to hear this today ❤️
IF YOU DON’T DO IT YOURSELF, IT WON’T GET DONE PROPERLY.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Have you ever said this to yourself? If you have, you’ve got yourself a limiting belief 🙄⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s ok to delegate - and I say this from the perspective of having been that person who thought that no one could do the work as well as I did, that it would be too expensive to hire support, and that it would be too much work to train someone to do the work.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ These huge limiting beliefs held me back, kept me stuck, and ultimately made me into a huge ball of stress! It’s not easy at first to delegate work out, especially when it’s work that you’ve been doing yourself for so long. But I can promise you that having someone else do the work and adding your thoughts at the end is sooooo much easier than creating everything yourself from scratch.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When you delegate you get to share your vision and have someone else help with getting it 90% to the finish line. Then, you get to say what is or isn’t working, and infuse your magic into the work through your feedback. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is how you can leverage your time and still do your genius work!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Have you started to delegate your work out? ARE YOU ABLE TO REALLY DEFINE WHAT IT IS THAT YOU DO IN A WAY THAT GETS AN IMMEDIATE REACTION FROM YOUR DREAM CLIENT?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you answered no, or maybe, you need to keep reading 😉⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day of running a business and forget the basics of why we even started a business. Do the people in your life know what you do? Like, REALLY know what you do? Can your partner describe your business? Do people refer your business to their friends? And could you describe the specific audience that your business serves (without rambling)?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I get it, it’s hard to explain the nuances of what you do because it’s not as simple as saying “I’m an accountant” or “I’m a web designer.” You’re so much more!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There are a few questions you can ask to really get clear on your online positioning so you can attract your dream client, increase your sales, and scale your business:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ——> Find your public statement. What does your business do? Keep this statement as simple as possible!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ——> Who do you specifically help? The key here is to be specific. Get really clear on who you serve with your business so once people find you they know right off the bat whether you’re the right person for them or not.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ——> What do you help people with? Again be specific! This needs to be something that your target audience associates with and that they can easily understand. Keep the fluffy and whimsical copy for your website 😉⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ——> What transformation do you provide? In other words, how do your services get your clients from where they are to where they want to be? I wouldn’t move forward, I wouldn’t grow, and I wouldn’t continue to create success.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Or, I would give up after trying for something big and not quite getting there. We all fail sometimes, but it’s what we do with that failure that really counts. And truthfully, our failures are what make us grow the most!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Because I know that success is my story, I try. And try again. I never give up. I fail (hard), and learn in the process. I get back up and I keep learning, and growing, and succeeding. I know through these actions I can create any life I want, no question.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The opposite is also true - belief that you will never succeed will also make it true. When it comes down to it, you really need to be thinking long-term to grow a sustainable business that brings in consistent income, and that allows you to live your best life (which is really the goal, right?)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But how do you do this?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Start with carving out solid time to take a step back from your biz and look at what is and isn’t working, which will allow you make decisions that will propel you forward. The truth is, if you’re continually making decisions on the spot and just knocking things off of your daily to-do list without thinking of the end game, you’re not going to end up where you want to go!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You can ask yourself a couple of questions to think about your business long-term:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ——> When in the next week can you take an hour or two to focus on your business planning?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ——> What do you need to double down on, and what do you need to cut out? In other words, what is working, and what isn’t? You can’t keep doing the same things and expecting different results!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ——> How are you going to implement the changes needed into your business? Plan it out and make space in your schedule to actually implement the knowledge that you’ve gained from the above!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When you can do this consistently, you’ll start to see the compound effect of long-term thinking.
