This could be you! Olivia of @Pigeon_and_Pip here, sitting in front of her trompe l’oeil headboard (which she painted, oh-so-beautifully, in Chalk Paint®) reading The Colourist for further artistic inspiration. Be like Olivia and pick up your copy from your local Stockist today!
Unbelievably, this rainbow piece doesn’t feature in The Colourist – but it really should! It’s a great example of joyful, happy colour! Pick up a copy of The Colourist, though, and you will find another contribution by @MaisiesHouse - who’s the brains & brush behind this beauty.
#StockistSunday time! Let’s saddle up and mosey on over to @JensFurnitureRehab in beautiful, rugged, Hollywood cowboy country, UTAH! Jen has something of a cowgirl vibe herself; one of those cool, artist characters who has an infectious confidence with colour that I just love in a Stockist. Jen first discovered Chalk Paint® in 2013 and by 2015 she was a Stockist; spreading enthusiasm and excitement in her workshops and getting a little kick out of watching attendee’s eyes light up when they see just how much can be achieved with Chalk Paint® and so easily! As Jen’s shop name hints, her passion is restoring and rehabilitating unloved furniture; “Sustainability and repurposing are very important to me. In a country where we are programmed to throw out and replace our furniture and decor as the styles change, Annie’s paint can be used to easily update what we already have, which is so important to our environment”. Scroll through to see what scrap heap furniture Jen has recovered from the brink armed with just her trusty Chalk Paint® brush and some pioneer spirit! #AnnieSloan #ChalkPaint #Utah #Utahgram
Another @LucyTiffney How-To success story! This one was was executed by @KindleHouse who also took inspiration from my Josef Frank inspired front cover of The Colourist. If you think this type of painting is beyond you – pick up a copy of my Bookazine and think again!
@TheReclaimedHeirloom does exactly what her name suggests! Christina uses Chalk Paint® (purchased from super Stockists @thepaintedbenchhamilton) to restore old, tired furniture into beautiful works of art; saving them from the dump & elevating them to pride of place in your home!
This chest of drawers was painted by @vonboo1203 who used print pioneer @LucyTiffney’s step-by-step in the back of The Colourist to inspire the funky, tropical-jungle-floral design. I love a multihyphenate design style, don’t you? #AnnieSloan #ChalkPaint
This bathroom was painted by my son, @FelixSloan in Chalk Paint® in Aubusson Blue and Provence. Felix used an easy ombre technique – if you’d like a step-by-step pick up a copy of The Colourist where you’ll find a How-To by @ildikoh67 in similar ocean blue tones.
Shibori is the Japenese art of fabric dyeing. This beautiful image is courtesy of abigail*ryan who used Shibori to dye these cushions in Chalk Paint® colours Provence, Aubusson Blue and Greek Blue. There’s a how-to in the back of The Colourist, so be sure to pick up a copy!
It's Monday at 7pm which means I can finally reveal the first project by our newest Painter in Residence, @Girl_In_Blue_Designs. What do you all think?! This Chalk Paint® cupboard encapsulates everything I love about Girl In Blue Designs' style! She’s an absolute ombre maestro who isn’t shy of colour. Her finished pieces are romantic, a little gothic, and quite frankly fairy-tale fantastical. Personally, I think this cupboard in Amsterdam Green, Antibes, and Lem Lem is completely magical. For a step-by-step to how Charlie upcycled and upgraded this little number, and if you’re thinking of executing an ombre of your own, visit the Inspiration Page on my website (link in bio).
#StockistSunday this week takes us to Singapore! That’s where you’ll find Deepti and her treasure chest of a shop, @BigBlueTrunk. Deepti first discovered Chalk Paint® when she was working and travelling the world. Chalk Paint® provided an easy way for her to be crafty and creative and make her transient homes beautiful and personal… Deepti told me, “every time I used Chalk Paint for home-improvement projects, I was always amazed at the quality and finish of the products. Each time I'd visit my Stockist in Singapore to buy paint, I'd think to myself - 'how I'd love to have a Studio of my own and do this for a living', all the time still slogging it out in the corporate world. Then, on one of my paint-buying trips, my Stockist said she was looking for a buyer for the business. And that's how it all happened - I decided to take the plunge, and Big Blue Trunk came to be. That was exactly one year ago, and I'm loving every single day. I have always believed that a space should reflect the inhabitant's story - it should be personal, unique and YOU. And that's exactly what Annie Sloan Chalk Paint lets you do. Each day we help our customers transform their homes in simple ways to be more beautiful and happy, and that's why I love being an Annie Sloan Stockist. I'm inspired by the creative global Annie Sloan tribe that we are privileged to be a part of, and I enjoy helping our community in Singapore to get creative and #makeeverydaybeautiful. I can gratefully and proudly say that Annie Sloan has given me a platform to live my dream - I actually do what I love, my work is my play”. #AnnieSloan #ChalkPaint #Singapore
Read about the wonderful @girl_in_blue_designs, my brand new Painter in Residence on my blog! This Georgia peach's furniture painting is as beautiful as she is (which is no mean feat, as this photo attests). I think there's a definite overlap between painting furniture and being good looking, you know 😉 For more of @Girl_In_Blue_Designs there’s a handy link in my bio – click to see some of my very favourite of her past pieces. It was a tough shortlist to make and you might be surprised! Let me know in the comments if I missed any of your favourites. #PainterinResidence #AnnieSloan #ChalkPaint
I think it’s about time I reveal my NEW Painter in Residence! Please give a warm welcome to @girl_in_blue_designs!!! To be clear: She's NOT the one perched atop this chest of drawers. Girl in Blue is the brainchild of the wonderful, talented Charlie Ann Massey who’s signature style is painterly and life-affirming and wild and bold and just down right fabulous. I love how she uses colour and I’m sure that you will too. I’ll be sharing her first project on Monday at 7pm GMT so be sure to check back and let me know what you think (or turn on Post Notifications so you never miss a piece again!). For now, here’s one of Girl in Blue's beautiful pieces which first caught my eye! This highly textured chest of drawers has been transformed with thick layers of Chalk Paint® colours. Undertones of Barcelona Orange, English Yellow and Burgundy emerge from stripped back Amsterdam Green at the base. Fading beautifully into Lem Lem at the top of the piece. A dream in green! #AnnieSloan #ChalkPaint #PainterinResidence
If the Chalk Paint® in Lem Lem projects I’ve shared have caught your eye and whetted your appetite for this pretty pastel then remember to pop into your local Stockist and pick up a tin to support your local high street, @oxfam AND people like Milagrosa (pictured). In the Philippines, Oxfam and Annie Sloan are helping to support communities in protecting themselves against the disastrous effects of climate change. Sales of Lem Lem are funding training for vulnerable farming communities and teaching farmers like Milagrosa how to best adapt their farming methods to withstand climate shocks. Milagrosa has her own organic vegetable garden which she sais “helped us provide for our daily needs as well as supporting our children’s education. Our children don’t get sick because they are eating organically-grown vegetables”. It’s important work, which wouldn’t be possible without you.
G'day mate! Australian Stockists @CrabAppleVintage have done a beautiful Chalk Paint® job on this chest of drawers. A fresh coat of Lem Lem allows the unusual handles to become the focal point. Romantic, rustic and styled to perfection with those pampas grasses! Top notch stuff.
