This girl has serious skills. Hannah Brown entered a contest to design a new billboard for Hillcrest Medical Center. The contest was open to the entire community and Hannah created the winning design. The @jenks_fa student will have her artwork placed on the Hillcrest parking garage at 11th & Utica starting May 9 in honor of Hospital Week. Hannah also took home a $200 cash prize. Congrats! 
Another year, another successful TedxYouth@Jenks event put on by students at @jenkshs. Students provided compelling and impressive speeches about a variety of topics surrounding the focus of “Perception Reimagined”. Congratulations to all JHS students who helped put this event together and those who sparked fascinating conversations. 👏🏼 
💰💰💰Isaac Neal's prize for winning an essay contest was a suitcase filled with $5,000 - in one dollar bills! The sophomore at @jenkshs recently read the book "The Kid & The CEO" by Tom Pace and wrote an essay about what he learned from the book, as well as the actions he's taken since reading the book. Isaac was inspired by the book and shocked when Tom Pace walked into his classroom this morning. He says he'll use the money to buy a car and maybe a chocolate bar. Congrats, Isaac!

Congrats to Julie Wortham on being named the 2020-21 JPS Classified Employee of the Year! Julie is a Human Resources Specialist and serves as Deputy Clerk of the Board. She has worked for JPS since 2009 and was selected from among 17 phenomenal finalists representing each school site and department in the District. 
***UPDATE*** The Jenks Public Schools Board of Education voted to approve Friday, May 28 as the last day of school for the 2020-21 school year. Tuesday, June 1 will be a teacher work day at elementary and secondary sites.
