Pour yourself an Aperol spritz and join the super jolly and very entertaining Mrs Prior online tomorrow at 5.30pm in our first #farleighfamily Friday Fun get together for all (Pre-Prep, Prep, pupils, parents and staff). How well do you know colours, Star Wars, Bridgerton, Disney (on recorder!), alcohol content, and other utterly essential general knowledge? It won’t be University Challenge but it is going to be fun! We can’t wait! #farleighathome #farleighfamily #quiz #quiznight #january2021 #fridaynight @bridgertonnetflix @starwars @disney

Ready, steady, bake! Our Year 1 children were tasked with making rock cakes for their afternoon activity yesterday, and they did a brilliant job. Lots of fun to make and we hear that they taste delicious, thanks to great feedback from parents and siblings alike. Well done Year 1! #farleighfamily #farleighathome #activeafternoons

Our Year 8 pupils may be having a term off from filming but post production is in full swing! Swipe right for some incredible stills from their upcoming production of ‘The Battle of Boat’, plus snippets from the feature in the Farleigh School Winter Newsletter, which you can find in full on the school website under ‘Day to Day’. We cannot wait for the film’s premiere in the summer term. Well done, Year 8, and the ever ebullient Mr Hession! #acting #actors #drama #performingarts @goodschoolsguide @tatlerschools @school_notices

We are very fortunate as a school and a community to be able to celebrate Mass - albeit online - every Sunday with Fr Simon, who is both Headmaster and Chaplain. You can find the links to Mass via the Farleigh School website under ‘Day to Day’. Today, we celebrate the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord and Fr Simon reiterated a truth that “we are all works in progress”. He quoted the placard hanging on the door of a Dominican novice master’s study: “Be patient with me, the Lord has not finished with me yet.” Wise words. #farleighfamily #catholic #mass #community #catholicportsmouth

A complete change of tack: if you like your rugby, you might be interested in the tantalising prospect of these two outstanding young props - 24 year olds Will Stuart (2009 Farleigh leaver) and his old @radleycollegeoxon school friend, Tom West, facing each other, live on BT Sport tomorrow evening. They are playing for Bath and Wasps, respectively, at the Rec; like @thedailytelegraph_ we can’t wait to see how this battle unfolds! #farleighfamily #farleighsociety #rugby @bathrugby @waspsrugby

Here we go again - back online and making the very best of it too! It’s all systems go and we are ready to deliver the best of Farleigh from tomorrow morning, albeit remotely. Thank you to all the teachers and staff who have worked so hard in the past 48 hours to make this happen. #farleighfamily #teamwork #farleighathome

Happy New Year to our Farleigh friends and families. We love this picture of the school (almost Lowryesque) taken by Mr Tween in 2019. It may not be snowing here today but winter has certainly arrived, bringing beautiful frosty landscapes to Hampshire. #farleighfamily #community #newyear

The new, stricter government restrictions have affected the plans of many to see family and loved ones over Christmas, which will of course be a source of disappointment and sadness. However, the future looks far more promising, not least because a vaccine is already being rolled out around the country. In the meantime, the whole Farleigh community, past and present, continues to be held in the prayers of the Chapel over this holiday and into 2021. Due to the variant strain of Covid-19 being 70% more transmissible than the current virus, we have taken the precaution of moving all Masses at Farleigh exclusively online for the time being. Do join us online every Sunday morning at 10am, as well as for Midnight Mass at 10pm on Christmas Eve and Mass at 10am on Christmas Day. Please follow the links to Mass in the Farleigh Chapel via the school website under ‘Day-to-Day’. With thanks to Arabella F in Year 7 whose beautiful painting was selected for this year’s official school Christmas card. We wish you all a happy and peaceful Christmas. #farleighfamily #mass #prayer #christmas
