[Ad press trip] If you head down to Denver’s RiNo district 🦏 (River North) be sure to drop into Central Market for a bite to eat. You’ll find every kind of food and every kind of people and a buzzin’ atmosphere. I had the best vegan yellow curry there 🌱 - almost tempted me to give up meat. But not quite. RiNo is full of colourful street art (more coming on the grid), craft breweries and quirk and is a fab area of Denver to explore... have you been?
[Ad] Out for a horseback ride in the Arapaho National Forest, Colorado. Mountain views, the ranch dogs running alongside, fresh, clean air and the feeling of being totally at one with the world. It doesn’t get any better. When did you last feel this way?
[Ad] I learnt more about horses in under an hour at @SundanceTrailGuestRanch than in my entire life. My horse was chosen especially for me both for my size/weight and riding experience - which is very little. Indigo 😍 was the perfect choice and he looked after me beautifully apart from when he tried to stop and eat grass every five minutes but we soon sorted that! If you’ve not ridden before a dude ranch is a great way to learn the ropes. Do you ride? 🐴
A new day dawns. Have you ever stayed at a Dude Ranch? You should, it's amazing. We stayed at Sundance Trail Guest Ranch during our trip to Colorado. The wranglers are great with both the riders and the horses and I rode through amazing scenery on the very gentle and patient Indigo. My boy! We even did a bit of trotting. The ranch dogs, Chewy and Roxy came along too.. ⠀⠀ We sat round the campfire singing along to cowboy music with a local couple who sang and played fiddle and guitar. I had my first ever S’more and learnt to square dance. We encountered Chipmonks, Jackelope, deer and humming birds all living on the ranch land. We learned about the flora and fauna and which ailments it can cure. ⠀⠀ Our eyes lit up at the clanging of the breakfast/lunch/dinner bell. The food was amazing and meals were communal with the wranglers and Dan and Ellen, the enigmatic ranch owners, to chat to. Ghost stories were told and tired legs carried us to bed to sleep soundly after busy days on the ranch. ⠀⠀ Amazing memories made...
After visiting Bear Lake our snowy forest hike in @RMNPS took us to a second frozen lake. Nymph Lake - such a dreamy scene and a bit like stepping into Narnia. A background of mountains and the aroma of pine forest in the air with the frozen lake spread out before us. Colorado is utterly magical.
Colorado - Rocky Mountain National Park. ⠀⠀ We drove into RMNP as far as the snow line let us and then walked up Rainbow Bend 🌈 for one amazing view over the mountains after another. It snowed a bit, the views were endless, the moment was magical. ⠀⠀ Another perfect day in Colorado! ⠀⠀
[Ad - Invited] Found my happy place in Rocky Mountain National Park. Our base was the town Estes Park which was great for exploring. We hiked to two frozen lakes. This is Bear Lake 🐻 no bears around but we saw dear, elk and a couple of moose en route. Basically had a totally brilliant day in Rocky Mountain National Park!
[#Ad - Press Trip] Channelling my inner Indiana Jones with a bit of tomb hopping at the Tombs of the Kings in Paphos. No kings actually buried there apparently just a lot of high officials. This was just one activity we did during our five days in Paphos. Find out what else we got up to in my new blog post ‘Fifteen fabulous things to do in Paphos’. Link in Bio. ⠀⠀ You can also find out where the inspiration for the 3x3 Instagram grid came from.
