[Ad invite] Last shot of the mountains (for a while anyways) to end my Alta Badia series. Have I tempted you to visit for the Taste of Skiing festival? With mountain huts serving gourmet food, Sommeliers guiding you down red runs before pouring crisp whites and the stunning Dolomites as a backdrop to beautifully groomed pistes what’s not to love!
Introducing the Bombardino. Christina our ski guide in Alta Badia insisted we stopped for this Italian winter warmer made by mixing 1/2 Advocaat or eggnog and 1/2 Brandy. It is served hot and with whipped cream on top - kinda like alcoholic custard! Have you tried a #bombardino?
The mountains are calling and I must go... are you a mountain or an ocean lover?
[Ad] What springs to mind when you hear the words mountain food? Cheesy chips and a mega carb fest? Not in Alta Badia - the mountain huts pair with gourmet chefs to produce dishes like these and they’re not too expensive either - starting from €16 incl a glass of matched wine Why wouldn’t you! @clubmoritzino I visited Alta Badia as part of a press trip - I received no financial compensation
#Ad hosted press trip - I was not financially compensated for this trip. The best thing about being first up the mountain is that you’re also the first down on all that lovely powder snow. We had breakfast at @lasvegaslodge with these gorgeous mountain views. Love the corduroy effect of a freshly groomed piste too!
Dinner at La Stüa de Michil in Corvara. Chef Nicola Laera was born in the area and uses local home-grown produce. Lamb from the Pyrenees, black garlic, peas and mint tofu with Borettana onion was utterly succulent and my favourite dish of the many courses. The restaurant is located in La Perla hotel in a cosy 17th century parlour.
I’m a skier but I didn’t learn untiI I was in my 40s which wasn’t ideal but I was determined to do it. I’m so glad I met the challenge because I adore skiing and love being in the mountains. What skill have you learned later in life that you wished you’d done earlier? #nsyftravel
Our first taste of Alta Badia hospitality was at the stylish Piz Boe Alpine Lounge in Corvara. My #Spritz complemented the colour of the Dolomites. The setting sun reflects on the limestone crags sending them shades of rust, orange, ochre and coral pink. The phenomenon is known as ‘Enrosadira’. Read more in my latest post- link in bio. Do you love a Spritz with a view...? #presstrip
