I’m an auntie again 😍 meet Prince 👑
I always encourage my clients to make Salad Jars on Sunday to bring with them to work for lunch, as they’re so easy and tasty. 🔸 I made a bunch and they’re saving me this weekend at the Tony Robbins seminar where there is primarily fried and packaged foods available. 🔸 Who else makes and loves salad jars?! ✨ Here’s how to make them: 1️⃣use wide-mouth quart size mason jar (get on amazon they’re about 12 bucks for 12) 2️⃣put dressing in first 3️⃣add the hardier veggies/beans that won’t get soggy in dressing (aim for 1-2 cups veggies like cucumber, carrots, beets, tomatoes, onions, etc) 4️⃣make sure you have a protein (1 cup beans or lentils for plant based, OR 3-4 oz of animal protein, for example, shrimp) 5️⃣then add 1-2 Tbsp seeds or nuts if desired (I love raw pumpkin seeds or walnuts for a little crunch) 6️⃣add 3-4 cups greens (I love to throw in a few tablespoons of chopped fresh herbs, too, like parsley, basil, dill, or cilantro) 7️⃣if you want to include avocado, put it in last, then cover completely with hemp seeds so it doesn’t oxidize. 8️⃣screw on top and refrigerate until ready to use, then shake it up and eat right from the jar or dump into a bowl. ✨ The jars should last as long as your quickest expiring ingredient. 🔸 Generally up to 4-5 days for salads, and up to 3 for salads that include animal protein. 🔸 Click link in profile for three salad jar recipe ideas. 🔸 🔸 🔸 🔸 🔸 https://mariamarlowe.com/2015/09/3-bring-to-work-lunches/

Do you eat salad in the fall and winter? Comment below. ✨ Since food is information for our body, and helps regulate our body temperature, amongst many other things, generally, we crave cooling foods (like raw salad) in the hot summer months and heavier and cooked foods that warm us up in cold winter months. ✨ While I don’t like eating cold food when I’m already cold, I find that since I spend most of my day in the office at room temperature, I don’t mind a salad in the fall or winter. ✨ I love adding in roasted veggies or cooked elements, as well as seasonal fruit, like pomegranate. ✨ Do you have any favorite fall/winter salad ingredients?
