sometimes i feel like there is so much noise and just recycled information being pushed out into our inboxes and feeds every day. I was recently asked to write an article for @healthline on tips for people with type 2 diabetes. I went + did a google search to see what information was already out there and was amazed at how much of the information just felt “recycled”. the same things- “eat in moderation”, “exercise more”, “drink less”. this blew my mind. the problem i have with it is most of us know what we SHOULD be doing, but often our habits and beliefs hold us back for reaching the goals. So, rather than repeating the same standard message- that eating a healthy balanced diet and getting exercise is important (well, duh🤨), i wrote an article sharing three nutrition + exercise hacks to bridge the gap between knowledge and action. Link to article here: https://www.healthline.com/health/diabetes/nutrition-and-exercise-hacks?utm_source=blog&utm_campaign=influencer&utm_medium=social Share it with friends/ family members with T2D! support the cause to create #value over #noise. 📷: @sophiesahara
a morning cereal that is gut healing, anti inflammatory, + keeps you full throughout the morning!🌱 i’m on day 2 of doing an anti inflammatory elimination diet to figure out what’s been causing my recent headaches + belly bloat. after day 3 of creating a neutral baseline i’ll start adding in foods that people commonly react to and see how they make me feel. It’s not about healthy vs unhealthy foods like asparagus vs pizza, but how your body chemistry specially reacts to certain things. This breakfast has been SO good. High in plant protein, fat + fiber and so crazy my morning sugar cravings have went away since having this so that’s a plus! sharif the recipe for anyone looking for a quick and easy breakfast idea! recipe: 2 cups of whole flax seed 1 cup of water cinnamon + nutmeg vanilla extract dates or raisins 1/2 cup blueberries or apple unsweetened coconut milk optional: honey * soak flax seeds in a bowl of water over night with spices. in the morning, spread flax on a baking tray with dates and/or raisins and bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour, turning every 20 minutes. after baking, add 1 cup of the flax granola to a bowl with coconut milk and blueberries. you can store the rest of the granola in a container in pantry for next few days 💃🏻 PS. more about this topic in the “cleanse🍋” story highlights!
i was never meant, to be that woman, sitting quietly in a teacup chair. my heart was never taught the language of the whisper. it only knows how to roar. #findyourfreedom #wordsbylauren PC: @sfreneenyc
