New York is known for its great numerous bakeries and there are any number of amazing bakeries to choose from including @amysbread @balthazarbakery @biencuitnyc @breadsbakery @maisonkayser @sullivanstreetbakery and more! The godfather of dough @clausmeyerdk has fingers in many pies there (unintentional food pun there...) and baker Rhonda Crosson has been working closely with Claus to introduce his bread and pastry program to New York @meyersbagerinyc , an artisanal bakery rooted in old world techniques, with a strong focus on organic and locally grown heirloom grains. On Yodomo, we've been filming a short course with Thomas Charles who also worked with Meyer in Copenhagen and now runs @charlesbread in Clapton, East London. So we’re not in the business of restaurant reviews but this place deserves a special mention - Cagen is a Michelin starred Japanese restaurant in Manhattan. There are only 8 seats at the bar and one of two expert chefs prepare and serve your food - presenting a photo of the fish you’ll be eating beforehand. We had the 16 course tasting menu and by the end of it we were desperate to do a sushi making course! Would need some very sharp Japanese knives though - maybe from @bestmadeco ? Hopefully sushi tutorials coming soon on Yodomo - just need to find the right tutors! 🍣🗽🍣🗽🍣🗽
