In case you forgot, bisexuality exists 💖💜💙 . . . #bigirls#queergirls#bi#queer#queerblogger#lgbtblogger#bisexualcommunity#lgbtq#pride2020#pridemonth#pride#lgbtcommunity#uklgbt#lgbtuk
#PrideinLondon couldn’t go ahead today but I’m still out here turning my grid into a Pride flag 🌈
You’re responsible for yourself and your mental health and in order for your activism to be sustainable, it’s important to recognise that being angry doesn’t need to be your whole life. If you try to make it your whole life out of anxiety or guilt, it won’t last because you’ll burn out. Recognise that you can still be a happy person and that fighting for justice doesn’t mean leaving joy behind - they can exist together. You can dedicate time to processing these different emotions, and none of us are alone. 🌈
The UK government recently surveyed us regarding the Gender Recognition Act. It had over 100,000 responses that voted overwhelmingly in favour of improving the lives of trans people. However, the government are currently planning to SCRAP these results. In my bio there’s a petition against this decision which I hope you’ll sign. You can be an ally by writing to your MP telling them that this decision is unfair, and further educating yourself and others on trans rights. White cis queer people, don’t curate a Pride playlist this month without showing up for the trans community. Trans Lives Matter. 🏳️🌈 EDIT: There’s a new form in my bio regarding this, organised by the Labour Party. Filling it in takes 20 seconds!!!
Pride isn’t cancelled, it’s refocused. Link to the gofundme to help homeless black trans women in Atlanta, which is close to reaching its target, will be in my bio for at least the next 24 hours. All Black Lives Matter 🏳️🌈 #pridemonth#pride#pridewasariot#queer#bi#lgbtqia#instarainbowchallenge
It’s officially #PrideMonth. Remember, the first Pride was a RIOT led by QUEER PEOPLE OF COLOUR. Please, do not stay silent and uneducated on BLM then proceed to celebrate Pride without a care in the world. Too many white queers and allies are doing this already. Know your history, understand what’s happening at the moment, realise what you can do to help. Resources are everywhere right now and we should all be making huge efforts to do better, and keeping this energy up when words stop being shared to every other person’s IG story. Use your time wisely. Donate generously if you can. Ensure that there’s meaning in your actions.
I wasn’t gonna get cliché ‘I finished my degree’ pics but my older and wiser friend insisted 💛
waiting for the night i sleep for more than 4 hours
went outside for once. got sunburnt 🙃
if you need me i’ll be over here panicking about how at the end of the month i’ll no longer be able to tell people ‘i’m a student’ when they ask me what i DO
when we get out of lockdown please don’t go back to treating the planet carelessly, the climate crisis isn’t stopping 🌏
category is: cartoon character! 🌈
#escapril 30. “dusk” And that’s the last one! Ngl I’m actually really pleased with myself for keeping this up - I’m terrible at sharing work because of PERfecTIONism so having an excuse to just put poems out there without overthinking it or waiting for them to be better has been really good for me. I made a conscious effort not to say which poems I was particularly not proud of and when some of you said you enjoyed them it reminded me not to be so critical of myself all the time, so thank you!! And if you hated me doing this thanks for still sticking around despite it lol. I’ve really enjoyed reading everyone’s so if you took part thank you for giving me so much good stuff to read - it’s been great, and I’ll still keep scrolling through the hashtag and your accounts for days to come! 💛
#escapril 29. “monochrome” 💜 #escapril2020 #letsescapril
#escapril 28. “___ as a weapon” I’m aware it doesn’t make any sense to post happy selfies alongside not-so-happy poetry but don’t worry #escapril2020 is nearly over xo
