Happy 1st Anniversary Duane and Shannon! What a gorgeous wedding day!
We’ve had 10 feet of snow since the beginning of January!! It makes for great skiing and magical engagement sessions! Alex and Steve timed their trip perfectly for deep pow! It was a blast playing in the woods with these two!
I have been trying to put into words and process this past weekend and the Fat Pursuit. It hasn't been easy. I wasn't expecting this emotional exhausted side of something so wonderful and hard. I rode the pursuit with my husband Gary and our good friend Zac, and the last half with Erin McGuinness Woodrow. I'll be upfront right away and say working in the team is why I finished. Our goal was to have fun and finish. Slow and steady. I honestly don't know how it would have been out there alone and maybe I would still have finished, maybe not. I did the work, rode the distance but it sure was nice to have people to talk to and share this experience together. I had been planning on riding alone until a couple months ago. Zac reached out to me asking to ride together, then shortly after Gary decided to join. We made a great team and road well together. They also were patient as I was slower then them and I know it must have been hard at times to slow it down a tad. My heart is full. The kindness and support from my friends, the text and cheers have been so heartwarming. I couldn't have done it without the full support of Gary. From the moment I said I wanted to do this was helping me dial my bike, get the right gear and going out on long amazing training rides with me. I think sharing this experience with them made it that much more profound and something I will never forget. Happy to share we finished after 41 hours of riding. What a weekend!! On Saturday I am heading out on a grand adventure. The 200km Fat Pursuit, a winter endurance race in Island Park Idaho. The weather forecast looks questionable with the potential of lots of snow. Really hoping the forecast is wrong. It'll be a bummer to get shut down by the weather after all the work put into training and the dreams of finishing. It's a good lesson in letting go of things I can't control and shifting my focus on the things I can. I can control my gear, my food and my thoughts. I shifted from worry and nerves this morning to joy and excitement. I get to see like minded friends, I get to set out on this journey no matter how long with my husband and our friend Zach. I get to ride my bike, something that brings me the most joy. I have put hours and hours into training that have become great adventures on their own. No matter the outcome this weekend I know I have already been successful and pushed myself. ✨ Thanks to Gary for always believing in me, supporting my dreams and helping me get my bike and gear ready. I want to give a special thanks to Jay and Tracy Petervary. Not only for bringing fat biking to our little community but also for this wonderful event they put on. It really is a family. Thank you to Dayne and Josh from @targheeathletics for all the training program, support and stoke. Thanks to @fitzgeraldsbicycles for always taking care of my bike and the last minute gear swap. Lastly it's been heartwarming to hear from my friends who are so supportive and are cheering me on from afar. I don't feel like I am doing anything special except riding my bike but if it motivates someone to go out of their comfort zone and dream big that makes my heart sing! Dream big you might surprise yourself. These 📸 are from a training ride a couple weeks ago. Magical on top of Two top!
You know when you meet people and they just radiant, shine and you just want to be their friend? Well meeting Andrew and Emilia was like that for me. Emilia’s smile is contagious, even editing I had to smile. Andrew is sweet and funny and looks and lights up when he looks at her. We had a blast and I left so excited knowing I get to see them this summer at their wedding.*Note to self.... suggesting the lift with snowshoes might not always be the best idea. It sure did make for fun pretty photos though 😊
Congratulations to Montana and Kyalr! Their wedding made me feel like we were in romantic holiday movie. It was gorgeous!❄️💕❄️
