Enjoying the last few days of my mini vacation in Arizona. Today I’m heading to Tucson to visit one of my favorite people. Hope you are having a great start to your week. What is one thing you are looking forward to this week?
This year has been one of the best years for my business. I scaled down on the amount of weddings and high school seniors I normally take each year to focus on the educational side of my business. It was scary at first because I cut the amount of bookings I normally do by almost two thirds. Yes you heard right, two thirds! This has been the best decision I’ve made for my business since I started Lydia Gillis Photography almost seven years ago. Three conferences, one in person workshop, two online workshops, eight online business courses, one self care course and no regrets. I feel like I’ve learned more about myself this year than I have in my whole entire life. I’m excited for my business and the direction it’s going. I am so thankful on how 2018 is wrapping up and I’m looking forward to implementing all the knowledge I gained this year to 2019. Sometimes we are so afraid to invest in ourselves or our business because we can afford it. The trick is to plan ahead, have a game plan, believe you are worth it and make it happen! How do you nourish your business? And what is stopping you from investing in the future of your business?
Arizona bound for my last conference of the year and my all time favorite, Showit United. Can’t wait to HUG everyone. After the conference I’m spending much needed time with family in AZ. Do you go conferences? Which one is your favorite?
I’m so blown away by all the love, support, and encouragement I’m receiving from @amyporterfield The Ultimate Course Creation Workshop. So blessed to be part of such an amazing community, tribe and family. Someone in our tribe took the time to write 100 personalized love notes and gave us all this beautiful bracelet. The person who took the time to shower us with love wants to remain anonymous. To the person who went out of the way to show love and kindness, I want to say THANK YOU!!! Your kind gesture not only touched me but move me to tears. You are one of a kind! #finished
What things can’t YOU live without? There are a few things I’m pretty sure I just couldn’t live without: in the morning a glass of water with some lemon follow by a quiet meditation and on the weekend family time and a good book to read. In my work, though, these three things are indispensable: my camera, computer and post-it notes! I live post-it notes. They are my best friends. 😃Now it’s your turn...what are your must-haves?
Over the last year or so, I have been very protective of my Sundays. Sunday is my day of rest and spending time with my family. The only exception I make to working on Sunday is if I have a wedding to photograph which rarely happens. Today I went to my brother and sister-in-law’s for breakfast, ran some errands, took a little drive to watch the fall colors. Now I am home in yoga pants and messy bun drinking some chia latte. How are you spending your Sunday?
