Welcome to my new home office! Even though I have a little office nook in our Living Room, our house feels a little like Grand Central Station right now. We are on day 7 of being on home quarantine and I am so grateful to have a place to hide away from my family when I need a break or a quiet place to work. Only thing missing is my trusty little sidekick Lucy. She is stuck on my in-laws farm for the time being and we miss her so! 📷 @tracey_ayton
One of the things that I am doing to stay sane during this quarantine with my family is to retreat to my bedroom every afternoon with a hot cup of tea and some cookies. I close the door, tune the kids out and just take some time to regroup. My husband is working from home, but he is tucked away in the basement working crazy hours - he is a stock market analyst and his job has never been more stressful. The majority of the household and childcare responsibilities fall on me right now, and taking these afternoon sanity breaks are what I need right now to be the strong and centered mamma everyone needs me to be! I would love to hear about your daily self-care rituals in the comments below! #covid_19 #quarantine #quarantined #vancouverblogger #canadianblogger #cdnblogsquad #designblogger #interiordecorator #vancouverinteriordecorator #vancouverstylist #interiorstylist #vancouverinteriordesign #vancouverhomes #northvancouverhomes #northvancouverinteriordesign#yvrmom #northvancouvermom #vancouvermom #interiorphotographer #northvan #northvancouver #deepcove #edgemontvillage #lynnvalley #westvan #westvancouver #vancouver #vancouvermom #northvancouvermom #vancityhype
We are on day 6 of Quarantine and I find my emotions are kind of all over the place these days. I know this is completely normal...part of our new normal. I am so grateful to be safe at home with my family, and because I am a homebody by nature, being here doesn't feel all that bad. But I am struggling with the weight of keeping the ship sailing smoothly for my family and being the trampoline for everyone else's emotions, when I myself am feeling low. I know I am not alone in this, which is a comfort. I will continue to practice gratitude because I know that is helpful! 📷 @tracey_ayton
Our Homework station is not just another pretty space...As of yesterday it became our homeschool central. We left for our Spring Break early, plus all 3 of my kids missed some school right before we left ...the girls were sick and Kallum had a concussion. In an attempt at providing some normalcy during this strange time, and so the kids could catch up on what they missed, we came up with a schedule that included some designated school work time. I am so grateful for this space right now!
Day 3 of quarantine over here at our house, and I feel like I spent most of it in the kitchen! I baked a batch of our favorite gluten-free cookies, and then tried a new recipe for chicken tinga (Mexican Chicken) for dinner. Anyone else spending more time making and baking during this self-isolation period? If so, share with me in the comments below! 📷 @tracey_ayton #kitchendesign #kitchenlife #kitchendecor #homedecorinspo #mybhg #bhghome #smmakelifebeautiful
