As a result of Governor Scott's “Stay at Home Order”, the Davis Center and all its services have closed their doors as of 5PM today. We hope to reopen when the order is lifted, and will provide updates as soon as we have them. It'd be an understatement to say having to close our doors breaks our collective hearts. We live and breathe our mission to provide a 'center' for our campus community - a living room to relax in, a place to call home and build community, and we are already yearning for a time when we can provide that again. As our Assistant Director of the DC, Lina Balcom put it, This building is more than a place, it’s a community, it’s a safe haven, it’s a memory and growth generator, it’s the vehicle for my work’s purpose...and in many ways has become an extension of my body. After we finished closing I was lingering because I couldn’t bring myself to leave. One of my amazing students, who is a senior, said to me as we looked down at the deserted atrium, “what if this is the last time I work in the Davis Center?” - I wasn’t ready for that...because maybe it is. That was the hardest part. Stay strong Cats. To all of you in our community including our INCREDIBLE student staff - we'll be here for you whether our doors are closed or not. 💚💛
Just a 🧼'ing update from our amazing student employees.

TODAY IN THE DC: @uvmecoreps are conducting a 'Waste Audit' in collaboration with Professor Deb Neher and her 'Compost Ecology & Management' course to better understand if visitors are sorting their waste correctly. Their findings will show what building waste needs to be sorted better and help better inform the @universityofvermont community on how to separate their waste. #instauvm
Congratulations to @uvmbsu and UVM ASA for yet another amazing BSU Fashion Show - full of talent, energy, and of course, jaw-dropping style. 💃🏿 #instauvm #uvmevents
