VIRTUAL SPIRIT WEEK was such a success! #culverpride . . Thank you to everyone who participated in showing our school spirit even though we can’t be in school! We loved seeing all the creativity and smiling faces.
Our school counselor, Ms. Madigan, created this document for parents to navigate those difficult conversations with your kids about all that’s going on right now and not going back to school. There is no right way to feel right now 💕
Hello dolphins ! 🐬 Please read the important message from Principal Shiratori below (as featured in the Dolphin Splash weekly newsletter) . 🐬 By now, all of you have heard Superintendent Lockhart's message about school being closed for at least this week in addition to the 2 weeks of Spring Break. This news I know was received with a range of feelings; those feeling relieved, happy, confused, to being very sad. . 🐬 Regardless of where you stand, the center of all of our decisions is the well being of our students, and staff, and know how best to provide continuity of instruction and moreover support and comfort to our most vulnerable and those in need during these uncertain times. . 🐬 Please read below on what you can expect from our school community in the upcoming days: . 🐬 Instructional Plan: Be on the lookout for an email or contact via your classroom platform from your child's classroom teacher regarding instructional expectations for this week. Home Learning will take place mostly online, so if you need a device, please let your teacher know so proper arrangements can be made. . 🐬 Technology/ Material Access: Staff will be on-site on Monday, March 16th. Students who may need to pick up materials in their classrooms and/or access to a Chromebook/charger can check out the technology between 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. . 🐬 Food Services: Any CCUSD student that receives a District-provided lunch can continue to receive grab and go lunches at the Culver City High School cafeteria starting Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20, between 10:30 am - 12:00 pm. This grab and go service will resume after the scheduled Spring Break if schools are still closed at that time. . 🐬 As we navigate this unique time, please take care of yourselves, your family, and one another. Know that we are thinking about you and making plans to continue the learning and connections that make our school community strong. We hope to see you all of you soon. . 🐬 Please note, due to the uncertainty of COVID-19, final decisions will be made about events scheduled after spring break as we get closer to those events. . 🐬
