Looking at your Instagram feed you might find yourself scrolling through extreme outdoor shots of skiers dropping in narrow shoots, climbers on endless rock faces and hikers on peaks that seem impossible to summit. You might admire it, it might make you feel small, you might be working towards it, it might scare you off, or it might even be you! It is good to remember that all those people started at zero, just like you and everybody else. What being outdoorsy really is about is your PASSION for the outdoors! Follow your heart and you might realize you find most pleasure in a day hike with a picnic at a lake. Or maybe you like to constantly challenge yourself and, one day, you realize you are doing all the things you used to admire looking at your Instagram feed. Don't be afraid to start something new and be proud of yourself no matter which type of adventurer you are. We all have this in common: we love the outdoors! This picture was taken on the Ice Climbing Tower of @skibigwhite, where Adam wanted to try out Ice Climbing. So he did, with all the kids cheering him on! #ValhallaKingdom -- Picture by @geoffholman with Adam @think_snow22

Jillian A. Brown is one of our beloved customers at our Squamish store and a very passionate kayaker and adventure photographer. A few weeks ago she went 'Double Down the Grand' with Jaime Sharp. Read here a fragment of her adventure: Being claimed as a World's First, we had no idea what to expect taking a Tandem Sea Kayak down the mighty Colorado river. But with being asked less than a week prior I knew it would be nothing short of an incredible adventure. -- Lava rapids stormed below us as we scrambled up to the view point to scout out the mighty creature that was in our way. The air seemed heavy as we all took in a deep breath, looked at each other, who's first?. The trip had prepared us and instilled fear of knowing what was to come. As we charged through and eddied out just after, we scrambled to get a good vantage point to watch our river family charge in, tumble, flip, roll and swim. My heart raced more with each stroke of their paddle than my own. Once again we were reunited and with giant smiles, high fives, hugs with the knowledge we had done it together and slayed the beast. Never believe for a second that you're weak, within all of us we have a reserve of inner hidden strength. #victoriaaddino For the rest of her story and more pictures see @jillianabrownphotography

Snack in style 🍀 🍀 🍀🍀. Did you know clovers are actually edible? You can eat them raw or boiled. Yesterday we asked which snacks people like to bring on their outdoor trips. We got a ton of tasty input, so make sure have a look at the comments on yesterday's post. Here is a summary: Homemade energy balls with coconut and dates or pre-made bars like @gorpbar, @larabar, @clifbar and Rice Krispies bar. Also mentioned is lots of chocolate (we like our chocolate), Bounty bar and @mmschocolate. Don't forget the good ol' trail mix and dried fruits. Tip from @mithalou: pack homemade apple chips in an empty pringles tube. To compensate for all that sweetness, bring along some beef jerky, pepperoni, baby carrots and sunflower seeds. You'll be powering up those mountains! -- This week Hamill 'the walking snack shack' (her words not ours..) is the lucky winner from our draw. Congrats! You may send us a direct message @hamilldelprado. Next week we'll have another #inquiretoinspire post, keep an eye out for it! Picture by Tammy Quackenbush
