Just popping in to say thank you to all of you for your sweet messages, calls, and comments on my last post. It means the world. 🌞
This photo was in my queue to post last Monday. I had just finished a busy weekend of weddings and engagements, and with tired feet and sleepy eyes was headed into a conference for creatives that I just couldn’t wait for! The caption would read that this man beside me was holding down the fort. He was changing diapers, bringing dinos to life and slinging snacks so I could be both present and replenished. Monday morning I sat in a crowd of 400 with a woman speaking that I’ve admired for so long. @katelynjames your story of perseverance and love moved me. I had known I was pregnant for 10 days. 10 happy blissful days of how will we tell our daughter, our families, of how I’d be expecting AGAIN at the same time as my older sister. What a joy. I had some cramps but as I sat beside my friends and listened to another woman’s devastating story of loss they got worse. Within the next hour I’d know something was wrong. Words can’t describe the sadness we felt losing our second baby. Looking at this photo now I see two people who took a pretty photo in an olive orchard, but more so, I see a man who held me up and who needed me just as much as I needed him. He told me to go back to the same conference room on Tuesday and we agreed I needed and wanted to be busy. He held it together while I silently fell apart. If you are reading this and have suffered the loss of a child, know that my heart is so very sorry and it hurts for you too. I worked more events, weddings, and hours last week then I’ve ever worked in my photography career before. Seeing others joyful and happy (and even photographing bellies and babies) brought me a sense of calm and joy. We will be okay, we are okay. We are heartbroken but leaning on each other. I always try to speak this to my couples and I hope it sticks. A wedding is a day, a fun, crazy, happy day but marriage is everlasting. I love you, Chris. And to my sweet friends who helped me through a tough time, @brandepiphany, @jenn_sutton_photography, and @suzygoodrick your kindness is unmatched. 💕 It’s always darkest before the dawn.☀️
This little website here was a labor of love. Truly. To see it in print in the Spark website inspiration book last week at #showitunited2018 was a dream come true. Thank you to my incredible designer ((and sweet friend)) @brandepiphany & my husband, and friends who helped me craft my very pink, and very me, home on the internet. 💕
It’s Danielle & John’s wedding day! I see sunny skies and lots of celebrating in their very near future! Can’t wait! 🎉🎉🎉
TGIF! I can not wait for a weekend of consults, Danielle & John’s wedding day and a sweet engagement session! And let the countdown to Monday begin which is the start of the United conference for photographers + creatives! If you’re going, leave me a note below and say hi!! ✋🏼
Whelp, we spent so much time out trick-or-treating that we got ZERO kids at the door and now have enough candy to last to Easter. 😆 Hope everyone had a safe & Happy Halloween, let the countdown to Christmas begin. 😍
You guys, how cute is @scottsdalesherman lovingly looking up as his parents?! 😆 He was the best boy during Laura & Duncan’s engagement session, the treats helped too! 🐶
When I rebranded in March I had my brand styled shoot at the beautiful + modern Clayton House! I’m so excited to head back to The Clayton Venues this evening to photograph their open house. If you see a girl with a camera, it’s me, please say hello! 📷
So many of my fellow creatives use Fridays for introductions and I figured why not jump in too?! I’m Lauren, I’m a mama to Milly and a wife to Chris. I spend my weekends photographing wedding days and it’s hands down the best job ever! I love weddings. There’s tears, laughter, joy, toasts, dancing, I love watching a wedding day unfold and getting a peek into the love shared between two souls. I have a heart for community and cheering others on, which I love to do as a local leader of @tuesdaystogetherphx. 🖤 I also really love Halloween, I thought I had our Halloween costumes all figured out and primed to my doorstep but now my husband wants to dress our two year old up as Dwight and he and I go as Jim and Pam. I’m thinking that would be pretty damn cute. 😆 I love dressing up each year and it’s always a struggle to narrow it down! Tell me what costumes you all have planned this Halloween?!
I have one last blog post (for now, these posts were so fun) in my bridal blog series! Going out with a bang sharing the incredible Jackie with @wildoneevents! Come hear her wisdom on planning a unique and custom wedding day over on the blog!
