Creation : 563 SUNSHINE PEBBLES 43 ☀ This morning Olive, Juliana and Chloe came to see me and little Olive danced on my art... My hands were cold after picking up the frozen leaves and Olive felt warm and snugly as I stroked her curls. By the time I had got my leaves up the hill, they had started to melt, just like the Antarctica is melting each day. Gary the international environmental lawyer and avid bird watcher came to see me too. He told me with some excitement he had spotted the first rough tailed Buzzard yesterday and it had been verified. He also said it had migrated to the UK due to global warming and the frozen earth, meaning it could not feed... My other friend Gary and his little boy Joseph also came to see me. Joseph had been feeling under the weather and been at home for a week, but he was back on the hill this morning with a smile and a wave Oh look, leaves. He's super cute. I had missed them. The tiny insects are crawling on my hands as I sit under this tree. I can hear a gentle woodpecker nearby above my head. Mum always used to call me at home in Wales and say Hey Toby, quick there's a woodpecker in the woods, behind the back garden And we would watch quietly. I love woodpeckers. Thanks mum. Today my art is titled 'Dancing Olive' And today Bobbete taught me to... 'Listen. Really Listen.' ✊🏻 × 🎈
Creation : 562 SUNSHINE PEBBLES 42 ☀ Today my Art is titled... 'Come Rain Or Shine' Two nice people, who have been following my creations, came over and said to me Wow! Your up here come rain or shine. As an artist in residence on the hill, you need to come every day, no matter the weather. Some people ask me But what happens when it rains really hard or there's a snow dump? I said I get wet and my fingers will get icy cold. And they smiled. I find rain really interesting as most people prefer the sun 🌕. Yesterday the mound was full of people, this morning I was virtually on my own the whole time. I love the quiet and silence. You can hear the birds singing their songs. Today one of Valentina's friends came over and said hi with her cute dog Lulu. Valentina is my angel and I miss her on the hill. She's in Italy at her vineyard with Leonardo. But she's coming back soon. Antarctic is melting a bit more everyday. That's one reason I make my environmental art. That and for gender equality. I believe we will need equilibrium and gender equality to protect our planet. 🌏 That's why I crossed London one morning to meet my heroine Helen Clark. No relation. Unfortunately! ... 💚 Rie is sending a letter to Sir David Attenborough, to give him an endangered frog pin. 🐸 I Love Rie's beautiful work. Bobette is helping me to Listen. Today she taught me that 'Listening Brings Truth' Do Listen. @helenclarknz @bobettebuster @dobookco @kathyjkijiner @crietan @sirdavidattenborough @david.attenborough_official
Creation : 560 AMRITA SHER-GIL I'm loving ♥ all the imagery around the artist Amira Sher-Gil at the moment. I find her paintings and the photographs of her really spellbinding. The New York Times say she is Overlooked No More: As a pioneer of Indian Art. Her work was very much about the woman. A true visionary in a time dominated by men. Studying art at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. She died at just 28. Boo. 🖤
Creation : 560 RECYCLING People throw away their trash in the split second it takes to fall from their hand... So I try to give it the time and attention it deserves, by making it into art, setting aside little piles of recycled materials. The leftovers I place in the bin... I notice little girls are really observant. Yesterday one young girl stopped by and looked at my art and said Mummy, why do people throw their rubbish on the floor.? She seemed happy when I told her I made it into Art, to try to help people to listen. Her inquisitive eyes looked clever, like she completely understood what I meant. Kids are so smart. Do Listen.
Creation : 559 SUNSHINE PEBBLES 41 ☀ Today I met little Olive on the hill. She was nearly 11 and she was still sprightly with curly black soft hair. She came and had a peak at my art, but even though there was no food she still stayed by my side... With her lovely owner. Another nice young American lady with a lovely energy stopped and said I love what you do, it's really beautiful... Can I follow you on Instagram?... Thank you... 💚 Last night I wrote to Royal Parks and told them I really love how they care for the hill, but what can we do about all the trash that gets dumped on it? This morning I found a lovely park warden picking up rubbish, like I do. Although he does it professionally and has a stick grabbie thing. He was a lovely guy and I chatted to him about the conondrum of some people using the hill as a trash landfill zone. He said The weird thing is if you see people picking up litter alone, they think there's something wrong with you, that your slightly unhinged, but a group of people throwing litter on the floor is normal behaviour. I told him about the Japanese 🇯🇵 fans at the World Cup taking along bin bags to clear up after themselves. Culture is inside all of us but we can change if we want to... Today Bobette taught me that 'Listening requires courage.' Do Listen. It can change your life... Sending some love out to the Davids.. ♥ @dobookco @bobettebuster @helenclarknz @DoLectures @rarebookbiz @000dc000 @davidhieatt @davidshrigley @davide_of_highgate
Creation : 558 TRASH One man's trash, is another man's treasure... Or in this case, a young gentle Magpie.. 🖤 🥛
Creation : 557 TOBY CLARK This was a silk camisole I made for my first womens collection shown at London Fashion Week in 1997... I remember the fun Plum Sykes running onto my stand with a flock of young Vogue friends saying... Look at this little top. This is to die for. Before running off... Fiona Rubie - Senior fashion Editor of Harper's & Queen kindly featured it here with Moschino. As a kind of 1920's flapper vibe. I recall my fashion heroine and mate Char Pilcher at Vogue telling me one year.. Oh Toby, if Fiona's picked it up then your in very safe hands. She's fab. @fionarubie @charpilcher @londonfashionweek @moschino @britishvogue @therealplumsykes
Creation : 555 SUNSHINE PEBBLES 40 ☀ I ♥ making free art. Free Art with a purpose. Even with cold fingers my hands still feel warm, warmed by my heart... A little girl stopped by today, looked at my little pile of trash that I had collected and said with inquisitive eyes.. Mummy, why do people throw their rubbish on the floor?... I smiled at her and said... That's a very good question. That's why I'm making my Art on the hill. She was only about seven, but had a lovely kind energy and she seemed to understand. Today my Art is titled 'Where are we going to?' The lyrics are from a song in Evita. I have been quietly singing them all morning subconsciously. It seems a good metaphor for this planet 🌏. Where are we all going to? Though my Art is ephereal and disappears each day, the provenance in Art is really important, especially if you care where it comes from. I found my sunray leaves today along an alleyway near Redchurch St, on the way to meet the two lovely sisters Faye & Erica Toogood. The beer and sugar drink caps I found on the hill. Embedded in the soil. The reflector disk I found in the middle of the road. Discarded... The faded yellow rose fell before my path. Today Bobette taught me... 'Kindness Is A Language That The Deaf Can Hear And The Blind Can See.' Mark Twain. Do Listen. It can change your life... @dobookco @bobette.buster @t_o_o_g_o_o_d @karmacolanz @karmacolauk @simoncoley @evitaprz @thedolectures @helenclarknz
Creation : 554 TOOGOOD On the way to meet Faye & Erica Toogood and this little chap blew down across my path... Now safe in my pocket for the Sunshine Pebbles Art ☀ I make on the hill each morning....
