Keep your rabbit indoors & away from mozzies to protect them from myxomatosis
Thanks to @gumnutsandtulips for the custom collar for our new little baby. We ❤️ it
Some of you may have had the unfortunate experience of smelling Zeus if you came in last week. It wasn't his fault (well, sort of🤔), he had eaten some of his bedding which got caught in his stomach. The intestines kept trying to pull it through but instead ended up getting bunched up over the length of material. He was extremely sick and painful as the material had cut through the wall of his intestine too. Even after surgically removing it, it took a few days for his gut to settle down, hence the bad diarrhoea smell 🤢. Sorry if you had to endure the bad smell, we did our best to get rid of it, but it was all worth it in the end as he is now back to bouncing around and eating like a horse 😀
Coco had a swollen and sore foot. Turned out this nasty little grass seed had burrowed it's way under the skin of her foot causing an abscess. It was removed under anaesthetic today, much to everyone's relief (including Coco). We don't see many grass seeds here in the Illawarra but we've been seeing quite a few over the last few weeks. Avoid walking through long grass and check for them between the toes and pads on the feet, and also check their ears after you go for a walk.
