Holiday Gifts!⠀ ⠀ The holidays are upon us, and Christmas is less than 3 weeks away! Swing by the gym to pick up great holiday gifts for your family and friends. In addition to gift cards, stickers, and gear, we've got a limited quantity of brand new hoodies.⠀ ⠀ Remember: you can't climb good if you don't look good, so this holiday season: help your loved ones look great, and give the gift of climbing better! 😉
Cody Meadows⠀ ⠀ We're super excited to have Cody Meadows joining our route setting team! No stranger to the Alaska Rock Gym, Cody started climbing at the old gym 7 - 8 years ago, and returns to us from most recently being a setter at the Circuit Bouldering Gym in Portland, Oregon. ⠀ ⠀ Born and raised in Anchorage, Cody is extremely excited to finally fulfill a dream of his: to be a route setter at the ARG! ⠀ ⠀ Cody studied music, with an emphasis on singing, at Linfield College in Oregon, and has a particular penchant for pop punk, and metal. He still sings (and screams), and is drawn to emo music for its combination of highly technical singing (and screaming).⠀ ⠀ His favorite sandwich is a tie between vegan buffalo tofu, and the uber-classic peanut butter and jelly, but his favorite food is ramen.⠀ ⠀ Cody has a 1.5 year old cat named Zuko (named from Avatar: The Last Airbender) who he nicknamed Kitty Man, and calls a micro-panther (apparently he's HUGE!).⠀ ⠀ The next time you see Cody in the gym, please extend him a super warm welcome home! We're so excited and lucky to have him back!

Luke Halter⠀ ⠀ We're super excited that Luke Halter has assumed the role of head coach of our club, homeschool, and camp programs! Most of you have seen Luke’s shining smile around the gym working with the youth, but Luke has graciously agreed to take on more responsibility and help us shape future generations of climbers. Luke comes to us with a rich and varied background working with children of all ages. He is certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid and hopes to use those related skills to bolster our programs at that very important Club level. ⠀ ⠀ Originally from Buffalo, NY (fan of the Bills, Sabres and Yankees), he plans to bring the principles of social and emotional learning to our youth programs, including a focus on growth mindset and positive community building activities. He is the minority leader for cat lovers at ARG and owns 2 kitties, Aurora and Chester Creek, as well as 4 chickens (Aella, Babette, Hilda, and Zelda)! ⠀ ⠀ When you see Luke, be sure to congratulate him and thank him for his continued dedication to ARG’s young ones.
Yoga / Fitness Punchcard We’re super excited about our revamped line of yoga and fitness classes! To help simplify things, now instead of having separate punchcards for yoga and fitness classes, the two are interchangeable! We look forward to seeing you all in the yoga studio and the fitness room soon!
