Birthday Parties at the Rock Gym are BACK! Birthday parties span two hours and include an hour and a half of climbing and a half hour to do food and presents in a dedicated party area. Party-goers have the option of using either a section of the stadium seating or the tables in the bouldering area as their party space. Our Party Hosts are well-versed in getting new climbers up the wall and having fun! Birthday Parties are on Saturday and Sundays - call the front desk at 907-562-7265 for more information.
ARG Returns to Normal Hours! Tussock has the most amazing news! We are now operating at our old normal hours! However, please remember to check our live occupancy counter on our website before coming in (link to website in our profile). We continue to hold our youth programs from 12:00pm - 4:00pm on weekdays, so don't forget to check the website to ensure we're not at capacity before you swing by (max capacity currently at 60 climbers). Also a reminder that you WILL need a mask to come into the gym, however you do NOT need to wear the mask while you're actively climbing. You can view our all our Covid-19 policies and safety measures on our website (www.alaskarockgym.com). We (but mostly Tussock?) can't wait to see everyone soon!

Rock Rescue Course⠀ ⠀ Professional guides Joe Stock and Elliot Gaddy are hosting a rock rescue course on June 13th and 14th!⠀ ⠀ This two-day course will give you a foundation of skills to rescue a fallen leader or injured partner. These are important skills for being a good climbing partner: you should know what to do if an accident happens. Since this type of rescue is a worse-case scenario, hopefully you never actually apply these skills for a real rescue. Instead, these skills are more commonly used in everyday climbing such as lowering a tired partner to the ground, hauling a pack up a crux or assisting a partner through a crux.⠀ ⠀ The course will be held in Anchorage and above the Seward Highway.⠀ ⠀ For more info, and to sign up, head to the website of the Alaska Guide Collective! (https://alaskaguidecollective.com/rock-rescue-course)
Black Diamond Liquid Chalk on SALE!⠀ ⠀ Although we ARE allowing regular chalk (as long as it's in sock form) we still prefer that people use liquid chalk over dry chalk for the time being.⠀ ⠀ Our friends over at the Black Diamond store here in Anchorage are generously offering 40% off of any Black Diamond Liquid Chalk or Chalk Socks to our members for the month of June. All you have to do is show your scan fab at the store to get the discount!
