At high-tide, the water covered the tracks of the stolen animals so no-one knew where they went. It was only after a passing fishing boat saw smoke coming from the cave & alerted the police to investigate. That was how Dappat was caught in his 'gat' or cave".

The trail is named after the shy, mostly nocturnal, Cape Clawless Otter which inhabits the estuaries and streams of the South African coast. If you're keen to jump into Nature, this is a hike not to be missed!
