For the next couple of weeks, I may not be as active on here. I’m going to be doing a really awesome project in South-Africa. I’ll be helping to protect endangered wildlife and documenting my experience. As I’ll be staying in the bush, I’m not sure if I’ll have internet. I am however super excited to share more about this project and will whenever I can!✨
Three simple rules in life: If you do not go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you do not ask, the answer will always be no. If you do not step forward, you will always be in the same place. ::: We all know this, but it’s easy to forget. There is no time like the present to go after what you want! Do you guys have a life motto that helps to keep you motivitated?
Sometimes a small change in your lifestyle can make a huge difference. I never thought I’d be into sports, but a few months ago I started running so I would be able to do more cool stuff while I travel. My main reason for wanting to get fit was being able to do big hikes and keep up with everyone. So on my last trip in Albania we did an 8 hour hike. For the first time I felt like I could keep up and my legs weren’t even sore the next day. It feels so good to take care of my body and not feeling like my fitness level is holding me back. :: Just curious, have you ever made little changes in your life that ended up having a big impact?
Me at my happiest: enjoying the weather on a pretty beach with a cocktail in my hand🍹 :: Who knew Albania was such a great beach destination? ✨🏖
“I travel a lot, I hate having my life disrupted by routine” -Caskie Stinnett. :: I relate to this quote way to much😋 Everytime I return to the Netherlands and I have to settle into a ‘normal’ routine I get so restless! I enjoy seeing friends and family, but I miss the surprises of travel. A lot of my friends love having their routine though. Are you someone that enjoys the surprises of the travel lifestyle or do you enjoy having a home-base and a daily routine?
When your friend asks if you want to go on a trip next week, always say yes! @chasingeverywhere asked me to go on a random trip to Albania and I didn’t have to think long before I said yes💕. After a big hike we took some time to unplug in the Albanian riviera. If you’ve been wanting to go to greece, you may want to consider Albania instead. Most European beach destinations you’ll have to share with busloads of tourists. In Albania you can still find that relatively untouched coastal getaway. 🏝
One of the highlights of our Albania trip was the hike from Valbona to Theth. It’s a 6-7 hour trek, but we got to enjoy it for a bit longer. My friend Heather’s drone crashed and getting it back was quite the expedition. Heather pretended she was a professional mountaineer and climbed down a very steep slope to find it. The trip was stunning though and we wouldn’t have missed it! :: Ps. A video on the hike is coming up✨
Albania was just one big surprise. I loved its impressive mountains, the crystal clear water and most of all the welcoming people. Thanks for the good times Albania, I’ll be back! ::: I’ll be sharing a video and blog post on my trip soon💕
