While we are several weeks away from harvesting the first of our nettles, we love drinking dried nettle tea to prepare us for pollen season. Beds of stinging nettle grow in a special area here on our biodynamic farm so that their deeply green leafy tops can be harvested for our tincture and teas. Come mid- May, we don long-sleeved shirts, pants, and purple gloves, carefully cutting several hundred pounds of fresh nettles for drying. One of the most nutritive herbs known to herbalists, stinging nettle increases energy levels, strengthens the immune, musculoskeletal and lymphatic systems, supports the upper respiratory tract (especially during pollen season), promotes kidney health, and enhances a feeling of overall well-being and vitality.

Most often, the medicine you need is right outside your door. The key to finding it, is to listen. When our body and mind are attuned to the natural world around us, the plants will present themselves at the exact moment they are needed. 🌱 #usnea #materiamedica #herbalism
