Say it with me: THE MAGIC IS IN YOU. ✨⠀ ⠀ The world needs you. The world needs your story, your vision, your contribution. Find out what breaks your heart and then find your tribe. Go after the things that light you up from the depths of your soul, because there you will find purpose. ⠀ ⠀ Happy Monday friends!
My design process consists of 3 very key things:⠀ ⠀ 1. Great coffee. My favorite is freshly ground columbian beans, with organic coconut milk and a dash of cinnamon. Iced or hot, I drink this everyday.⠀ ⠀ 2. My Spotify playlists specifically curated to make me have a dance party all by myself. I can't design if rap isn't blaring in the background. ⠀ ⠀ 3. A vision for a party I would want to host myself. Most of my designs are born out of a color palette or theme I just can't stop thinking about. You don't need an endless budget to have a really classy party. My hope is that the invitation design will set the tone and the party will be built around that. ⠀ ⠀ I love working with clients on from-scratch custom orders and I also love filing predesigned orders in my shop that someone fell in love with. In both cases, I edit each piece specifically to your needs to make sure the layout, spacing and fonts all align well and the design works for YOU. ⠀ ⠀ What's your dream theme that you would love to have someday for an event? ⠀ ⠀ Mine is a Gatsby themed party! It's totally happening.⠀ ⠀ ⠀
July is officially coming to an end, so let's talk New Years Resolutions: ⠀ ⠀ I'm circling back to my #Powersheets and my goals for 2018. I was only 6 weeks into the year when my doctor discovered a large tumor taking up residence in my body and I was diagnosed with primary infertility. I was put into menopause for 4 months to shrink it and was told to just deal as best I could with the symptoms until surgery could happen. Needless to say, that put a serious damper on my ability to go, go go like I normally do. I was forced to rest and slow wayyyyyy down. Not exactly the definition of hustle.⠀ ⠀ Thankfully, the goal of improving my hand lettering skills was an easier one to keep up. I sat on the couch each night practicing words I heard on tv. Learning a new skill is frustrating, hard and requires a ton of patience to retrain those muscles in your hand. You better believe I was channeling all my aggression into the procreate app and I've kept logs of my progression. Which I use to laugh at myself because...let's be real, the early stuff is comical.⠀ ⠀ So, in short, 2018 has been nothing like I planned. As for the second half of 2018, well... I'm rewriting those goals. :)⠀ ⠀ How are your resolutions going? Do you track them?
This year has been: challenging, unusual, hard, scary, exciting and fruitful. And it's not even August yet. ⠀ ⠀ I've been laying low since February and cooled my jets on going hard on business growth. Ironically, it was because of a growth inside of me in the form of a tumor that needed to be surgically removed by one of the best medical centers in the world. ⠀ ⠀ I've really taken Psalm 30:5 to heart because the past few months have been HARD emotionally and physically, but I'm feeling so joyful lately. I'm still recovering, battling an autoimmune flare and we're still not pregnant. But, I'm joyful about so many things. I feel good, there are so many exciting things in the hopper that I can't wait to share and I've been able to check off two things on my bucket list.... and we're going to Germany in 6 weeks! AHH! 🇩🇪💕⠀ ⠀ The past few months have taught me that seasons of life and business have a purpose. And although I’d much prefer the joyful seasons. I’m thankful for the hard ones too because I can’t know joy without knowing hardship. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Photo: @annafilly
WE INTERRUPT YOUR NORMAL SUMMER SCROLL WITH THIS FALL 2018 PREVIEW. 😍🍁👌🏼⠀ ⠀ I know, I know, it's July. Slow my roll. Take a seat. ⠀ ⠀ But, July for makers and small business owners, is basically Fall, so I'm right on target. Fun fact about me, I tolerate Summer but Fall and Winter are my jam. I love the cool weather, the oversized knit sweaters, the snow. Believe me, I stress my Grams right out with all my prayer requests for snow days. She's lovingly named me the Snow Queen. ⠀ ⠀ What's your favorite season?
