“Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord.” Psalms 117:1-2 . . . Such an encouraging and exciting verse. To ‘extol’ means to praise enthusiastically- We are not called to be passive, we are called to love Jesus above anything else, then we can go on to give everything for the glory of God. We love because He loved us first. I just cannot get over the fact that His love is so incomprehensible!! It’s so humbling.
1 Chron 16:11 ~ . . Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! . . Just a little reminder to keep an eternal perspective! Nothing is more fulfilling than to focus on who’s in control. Make time today to just sit and listen and seek.
2 Corinthians 6:18 ~ “And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me,” Says the Lord Almighty. . . . We have been chosen to sit at the right hand of God, adopted as very own! (If He’s King, then do we get to be princesses and princes?! Just sayin..) But seriously, whether your earthly father has let you down or if he has tried his best- our Heavenly Father has never made mistakes and never will! He is the ones who encourages us and then one who disciplines us. He’s so loving to us who can never repay him! Just accept that He is good and we are not, He does more than accept us- He calls us His own. Oh I love you Father God.
“The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.” - Psalms 29:11 It’s a blessing to be peaceful, so as far as it depends on you: strive to be a peacemaker. We know we are to face troubles in this world, we can ask for strength from the Lord. It’s so simple, all we need to do is ask.
“For you, Lord, are the Most High over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods.” - Psalms 97:9 There can be so much comfort in knowing that God is ruler over everything. He knows when we are hurting and when we are celebrating- and He is with us through this. Find joy in knowing He is Lord, and we are not!
Pray. “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,” - Matthew 5:44 Loving your enemy is a nice idea, until you actually get an enemy! A good thing to remember is that we are only human, and Jesus is God- so when we struggle with the ‘human stuff’, we know who to go to for wisdom and strength. He cares unreal amounts for you, so talk to him. If you say you’re a follower: pray and spend time with the Holy Spirit- this is the best way to become more and more like Jesus. Pray continually.
