Always a sucker for a veil pic 💫
When I was little I said I wanted to be a “paint color namer” when I grow up- it has me thinking, what would you name this color blue? I’m thinking “seaside.”
I’ve been working on Racheal & Ashton’s album this week and it has me reliving so many happy moments! Love this shot from their bridal party portraits.
We’ve attended a few protests in the last couple of weeks, and each time I’ve found myself reminded of the power of photography. I am so moved by the intersection of art and activism- it’s a reminder that we all have a unique voice, and that voice is needed now more than ever. So thank you to the artists, graphic designers, videographers, and photographers who are using your talents to stand up against white supremacy and police brutality. Thank you for speaking directly to people’s souls, and for documenting what I hope will be a pivotal moment in American history. May these works of art capture the time we said: no more.
Last night was a gorgeous evening to celebrate Matt & Kim’s anniversary with a portrait session at @thewildsvenue!
In an attempt to show solidarity, I posted a black square earlier. However, as I listen and learn, I’ve realized that despite my intentions, the black box is not productive on its own, nor is it fully communicative of the truths that need to be spoken. I may not have all the words (nor will I ever), but I do have the words to say this: Black Lives Matter, and our justice system needs critical reform to reflect the value of these lives. While I don’t want my voice to be the loudest on this issue, I certainly want my voice to be clear. I recognize my own benefit in systemic injustice, and I am committed to actively fighting racism on a personal and national level. Today and everyday.
I love a timeless bridal portrait, especially when there’s a veil involved. Can’t get over Mallory’s gorgeous bridal look!
Missing scenes like this today...the wedding and the sunshine.
This past weekend I got to pick up my camera again for the first time in a while and capture one of my favorite things to photograph: a proposal! It was so fun to scheme with Michael as he came up with the perfect plan. I couldn’t be happier for these two, but now I’m itching to be out there (safely) shooting again! Here’s to a great summer ahead and hopefully many more evenings behind the lens.
I will never get tired of reliving this gorgeous tablescape 😍
