🌿Meet a Farmer Monday🌿 Ella is a Pennsylvania native, heralding from Lancaster county. Ella is entering her first season at New Morning Farm and is in charge of caring for the yummy snack peppers, basil and radishes. While in college, Ella worked closely with a campus initiative to bring fresh, local, sustainably-grown food to the campus community. This experience, along with a love of food, sparked a curiosity to experience the fullness of the food cycle, bringing her to NMF. When she is not tromping through the fields, Ella finds joy in her misty sunrise bicycle rides to work, kicking her feet up in a hammock, and vigorously cleaning the kitchen.

🥕Meet A Farmer Monday🥕 A military veteran, Kofi is joining the NMF team as a first year apprentice with three seasons of experience on farms in West Philadelphia and California. Kofi dreams of owning his own organic farm producing medicinal herbs and mushrooms, catering to soldiers dealing with PTSD. At NMF, he is in charge of our chickens, drip irrigation, deer fences and the high tunnels. He also manages okra, standard tomatoes, tunnel cucumbers and ground cherries. In his free time, Kofi loves to travel, go hiking, forage for mushrooms, practice yoga, rock climb, binge-watch netflix, and experiment with Korean natural farming practices. He is currently taking a course to become a mushroom educator through the Cornell Small Farms Program.
