We’ve reached our resting point @ohanavillassantateresa ! As you can see we are ALL super chilled and getting into the groove of things here in Santa Theresa... Chilling in hammocks, having a dip in the pool or the ocean! .. We are going to move around a teeny bit whilst we are here but nothing major.. Esmé went to a kindergarten this morning, shaun and I took turns doing some work and now he’s gone to have some surf coaching (not lesson) with @believesurf ... It will be my turn in the morning ... These two on their own are bloody hard work .. I know I’m pathetic right?! 💜✈️🌎 ps.. watch my stories of sunset tonight.. absolutely incredible 🔥 .. pretty cool little place .. the only thing that puts me off is the gravel road that runs through the town .. it’s super dusty but my friend tells me the community raised the money to get it sorted after high season 👌🏽
If you missed our insta-story yesterday our Granada, Nicaragua blog is up now (link in bio)... we nearly packed in our entire month of plans to stay there.. it’s such a beautiful place .. If you are planning to go to Costa Rica, incorporate beautiful Nicaragua, it’s so close .. Love this photo of Esmé .. she’s such an adventure queen, a girl after my own heart that loves maps and exploring 🌎✈️💜
Nicaragua ~ Costa Rica Border crossing story part 2 .. So there I am sitting in the rental car. As you know with all horrid family travel situations, you can bet your last dollar, there will be some sort of bodily fluid thrown in there for good measure! Shit all the way up little mans back into the creases of his neck. The toddler is going ballistic in the back!... Rewind a few steps. I chuck Shaun’s passport and bank card at him quickly, he gives me 20 dollars so I can cross the border. We do it quickly so he can run and see if the taxi has left. He can’t find him anywhere so jumps in another one. Shaun doesn’t speak Spanish and the guy doesn’t speak English. Somehow he manages to communicate the problem and the guy starts driving in a hurry to San Jan Del Sur ( an hour away) along the way the taxi man is making calls to friends to see if they know anyone that fits the description of the original taxi. They arrive in San Juan and drive around each and every street but they didn’t find him. Shaun is freakn angry at this point and decides to call it a day knowing I’m with the kids by myself for near two hours somewhere near the border. They start driving out of town and shaun catches a glimpse of a car down an alley way being washed. He wonders if it could be the one and sees a guy on the other side of the street with a baseball cap on backwards (that’s him) he yells at the guy and starts waving doing a phone signal. He shows him where it is in the car and despite it being washed by a group of guys it wasn’t found so it was lucky it was still there. The same taxi drove shaun all the way back so shaun obviously gave him a good tip as a massive thank you ... Three hours later. I see shaun from a distance running across the border. I wave at him well pleased with myself that I’m all set up with the car ready to go so he doesn’t have to stress about anything else. The car might stink of baby nappies but we were finally on our way.... In other news about this video clip ~ Recently Quinn hasn’t been sleeping well at night which is a new thing. He only really does this when he’s going through a developmental leap. Rest of story in comments
Baby in the background being all likeeee ... WTH is going on?... It’s warm volcanic mud washed off in the fresh river once it’s dry.. skin feels amazing after it! Besides from this nice activity today @canondelavieja , we’ve had several toddler melt downs and a trip to Walmart to pick up some Christmas presents before we head to our resting spot tomorrow.. Hoping we can squeeze in one more cheeky activity here in the morning ... toooo many epic things to do all in one spot.. 💜✈️🌎 Next post part 2 of our story!
WE ARE IN COSTA RICA 🇨🇷 - Well our entry in and out of Nicaragua was a total drama. (Not a reflection on our time there) ...Firstly having the drone confiscated. Then I left the country without my husband, by myself with two kids and all the bags (by foot) across the border into Costa Rica. He realised half way through the crossing that he left his phone in the taxi that took us there. He literally ran and I threw his passport at him hoping the guy hadn’t left yet. We had 20USD cash between us and our bank cards of course. It was wayyy too hot to hang around so I needed to make my way across alone to get the @rentalcarscom .. I had no idea when I was going to see shaun because he was going to have to get another taxi to chase it back an hour in the opposite direction, on the off chance the guy would be where he picked us up. Of course he wasn’t there so @travelmaddad drove around for an hour with an amazing local looking for someone that he had a vague description of!.. Meanwhile, Esmé is sitting on top of a pile of bags jam packed into a Surrey that’s going to take us to the rental car office. Of course in a hurry we hadn’t agreed a price and he charges me more than I had. An awesome Aussie man, also travelling with his wife who is on maternity leave sorts me out... People are sooooo kind!... I pack the car up and we sit and wait (with the AC on) hoping Shaun comes back soon.., I don’t know what I would have done if the Car place wasn’t so close to the border... He arrived back two hours later with a crazy AF story about trying to track down the phone. Part 2 of story coming soon. In other news.. how lush and beautiful is Costa Rica?! We have a few days in the north @canondelavieja .. today we did zip-lining and rafting. Each activity was only an hour and was right next to our little cabin so we had a babysitter .. Sooo nice for us to have that time to ourselves.. So my question for you is... tell me your travel drama that is funny now but wasn’t at the time??????.........,hosted 💜✈️🌎🚗🚗
