  • It’s always a challenge building homes in the winter months here in #toronto Project Banff is one we started a few weeks ago with demolition. We have now poured footings. Keeping the earth tarped with thermal blankets to keep the ground from freezing to forming and spreading calcium on the footing ground then scraping it away to have ground that’s not frozen to pour our concrete on.....to then covering the poured concrete with the same thermal blankets to allow for them to cure properly and not be affected by the frost!! lucky it’s all sand, but we still take precautions. Then the snow falls all over them to create even more fun for us. At least it creates a little more R value for the footings, Ha! Pinning for walls is next then forms start going up. Protect protect protect !!!!
