#TonysTuesdays – For having been at Tony’s just one year, Bella packs and organizes coffee with an artisanal flair. A soon to be WWU grad with a major in creative writing, it’s utterly confounding how one person can do so much. When not at Tony’s or Western, Bella plays shows around town as the drummer for her band Bobby Petite, seeks high-octane fun with the Bellingham Roller Betties, writes local reviews for What’s Up! Magazine, hosts and organizes shows for local bands, and rears a cartoonishly absurd cat named Pepper Noodle. ☕️✍️🥁
Our roasters got jealous when the warehouse folks got their own beanie last year, so now it’s their turn! Perfect for those cold mornings starting up the roaster or hitting the morning trail in the Chuckanuts. These ultra soft beanies are now available over at tonyscoffee.com. ☕️🏔
#TonysTuesdays – Nine years ago Kyle was informed of an opening at Tony’s from his childhood friend and head roaster Justin which propelled an aimless young man to fulfill his calling as distribution manager. With the tenacity of a sled dog, soul of a surf bum, and immense warmth of a neutron star, Kyle evades stereotypes and excels through original style and logistical prowess. If you’ve ever gone out for Simpsons trivia, this is the mug that kept you from first place. Place a burger in his hands and you have made a friend for life. 🍔🍔🍔
We’ve partnered with @haggenfood for decades, so we were thrilled to be featured in their video that’s dedicated to local producers! Make sure to give it a watch on our Facebook (link in bio), and keep an eye out for our superstar roasters Justin, Katie & Greg. ☕️🤝
#TonysTuesdays – Here lies the embodiment of work ethic in human form. An Everson native, Lucy began over eight years ago as a packager in production, who then learned to roast, who then studied the distribution side of things, and is now the manager of production. You’ll never meet someone more eager to learn or more curious to explore a host of hobbies ranging from beekeeping and gardening to woodworking and brewing. In Lucy’s eyes, the best cup of coffee is one enjoyed in a flowery valley floor with vast Cascade peaks surrounding you. 🐝☕️
#TonysTuesdays – Introducing Scott Rowe aka Lord of Accounts. A longstanding fan of coffee, Scott’s love for the smell of fresh drip began at the age of six, when he’d accompany his uncle to the local donut shop, where pastries gleamed and ground beans steamed. Now, happily settled in the Northwest with his family, a friend of Scott’s dragged him into the world of triathlons and he’s making a strong case for world’s fittest accountant. Don’t let his calm demeanor fool you, for the key to kickstart Scott’s heart is a heavy dose of Motley Crue. 🤘☕️
Introducing our new single origin offering, Ethiopia Wuri Natural! ☕️ Order link in bio. In the Gedeo language the word “Worka” means “gold.” There is also a large native tree found around Gedeb that the locals call “Sakaro,” hence the name of the village “Worka Sakaro.” Of the 1,276 hectares encompassed by Worka Sakaro, around 679 are planted with coffee, demonstrating what a critical component our favorite beverage is to the farmers’ culture and economy. “Wuri” is another Gedeo word meaning “high altitude,” which Worka Sakaro has certainly earned with some farming areas topping out over 2,100 masl. The sorting and drying processes at Wuri are precise and laborious, with washed coffees drying in 12-15 days and naturals drying in 18-21 days. The naturals are covered during the heat of the day to ensure a gentle and consistent drying, and turned constantly on the beds during daylight hours. We taste notes of blackberry, cocoa & plum.
#TonysTuesdays – If you’ve seen one of our sprinter vans around town in the last 15 years, there’s a good chance this man was behind the wheel. Sal was delivering in the early days when a day's work could entail island hopping and hundreds of miles covered by one person. Nowadays the crew has expanded greatly and Sal enjoys being the face of Tony’s locally, traveling no further than Ferndale to empty his whole rig. Once the ignition’s off however, Sal drops from the radar and roams the mountains until he’s satisfied with being thoroughly lost. 🗻
Introducing... Snow Joe! ❄️☕️ We created an all-new winter blend that captures the joy of playing so hard that you start to lose feeling in your fingers. Or, better yet, the joy of watching others ski from the comfort of a toasty lodge with a steaming mug of something delicious in hand. Whether you’re just off the ski lift, sitting by the fire, or dreaming of a snow day, Snow Joe will fill you with winter joy. We taste notes of cocoa, spice & wintry cheer. Order direct from the Tony's Coffee Roastery using the link in our bio. Local Bellingham artist Jess Bonin brought the wonderfully playful artwork for this coffee to life. We hope you love it as much as we do.
#TonysTuesdays – Officially our Inside Sales Manager, while realistically the all-encompassing multi-tool of Tony’s, Andrea has blessed our company for the past eight years. A true Bellinghamster since birth, Andrea, along with her husband and two kids, take full advantage of our beautiful region. They’re eagerly awaiting opening day at Baker. In town she holds a fondness for peaceful gardening, which doesn’t stop her from being a powerhouse middle blocker on the volleyball court. Andrea’s presence is invaluable and we’re eager to see her roots continue to flourish in our community.
Coffee Adventurers! We’d love to see all the places you take your coffee. Send us shots of all your favorite Tony’s gear or coffee on the go with the hashtag #TravelingTonys. If we end up sharing your photo, we’ll send a free bag of coffee your way! ☕️🏕
#TonysTuesdays – Sam is seven months into his tenure at Tony’s, after years of bouncing up and down the west coast. He can navigate a pallet jack like a waltz partner. His unique style has been described by some as Alaskan chic meets cold brew vibes. Always down to lay some tunes on his eight-track or ponder the void, Sam is the nexus where Han Solo meets Hey Arnold.
#TonysTuesdays – McKenzie, a veteran of 5 years, can be lauded not only for her critical role as Queen of Accounts Receivable, but also for helping to bring four other Tony’s members into the fray. A close transplant from the southern waters of Oak Harbor, McKenzie is most at peace crafting experimental art from her home. Working out financials and phoning business partners has never looked so regal.
#TonysTuesdays – Greg is one of our select few roasters at Tony’s and has been honing his skills for three years now. You’re guaranteed to find him at a local bar during the NBA playoffs and otherwise snuggling up next to his cat “Toast” as early Kanye bumps in the background.
🍁 We’re feeling this first day of fall. 🍁
