Don't you just love a new notebook? I'm brimming with ideas for blog posts right now and feel a writing fest coming on! Any excuse to purchase new stationery! In this digital age I still find I prefer to make hand written notes. There's something about using pen and paper that allows my creative juices to flow. Its also much nicer to take outdoors, using a phone to take plant notes just doesn't feel the same! I have a pile of notebooks filled with recipes and musings going back years. Do you have a notebook? What do you use yours for? . . #notebooks #plantjournal #spoons #iamwriting #freelancenaturopath #musingsoftheday #diarist #creativeprocess #herbalist #naturenotes
How many of these wild flowers can you recognise? Being fortunate enough to attend a primary school that was obsessed with nature tables (bring them back!) and a grandfather who loved Botany, I can't help but have a spring in my step when I see the lanes burst into life at this time of year. These beauties were picked on my little mooch about today. I think they make a much prettier decoration than any shop bought flowers.
How cool was our flower remedies workshop today! The sun had his hat on long enough for us to create a wonderful hawthorn remedy which we all poured our shiny energies into. Special thanks to the magical @clairejayne75 for taking these fab shots, and of course to @sprouthealthfoods for adding the vibes and as always, hosting a fabulous event. Thank you to everyone that came for making my bank holiday one to remember. Check out the #tablecloth 🙌 Happy remedy making! 🌻
Sea thrift covering the cliff tops. A beautiful burst of pink paper flowers. Prepared as a flower essence, this makes a good medicine for people who are on the edge. . . #coastalwalks #wildflowers #bluesky #freshair #forager #botany #lovenewquay #scenicview #getoutdoors #breathe #rambler #lookcloser #cornwallliving
Maurice Messegue first set up his practice in a small room in Nice where he hired a local beggar to allow him to treat him with herbs for his eczema. He succeeded, and word of his healing skills soon spread. He is now well established as a leading authority in herbal medicine. I managed to find a rare copy of his autobiography and am absorbing every word of it. This great man sadly passed away in 2016. I only wish I had the chance to talk with him. In an age where information is king, I still find people are precious about sharing knowledge. This is our heritage. Let's create a world where there's a herbalist in every home. Let's keep plant medicine alive and well in our communities. Can you remember a recipe from your childhood that made you smile? My personal favourite is Indian Brandy and REAL dandelion and burdock! Let's not lose these precious, potent, magic wonders! #iamreading #homeherbalist #plantmedicine #makeityourself #selfpublished #grassroots #trailblazer #herbsdeprovence #aromatherapy
