We love our fresh fish markets in Hong Kong, and you can see why! Price and freshness can't be beat. #hongkongfood #foodtour
What a thrill today to watch blogger and culinary whiz (not to mention LAHK Advisory Board member) @g4gary in action alongside our senior director chef @deeseebeaucoup. Gary Suen's pop up at @pmqtastekitchen is a sold out success! We think his Mac and Cheese with Cantonese sausage and fu yu is an instant classic. The fu yu, or fermented tofu, adds a funky edge to the traditional cheese (in this case, Tillanook Monterrey pepper jack). Bits of homemade lap cheung, Cantonese sausage, add bite and flavor bomb. Creativity like this makes us so proud of Hong Kong--and our incredible and talented LAHK extended family.
T Dining's Dim Sum Duets event has become an important incubator of new ideas in the HK culinary scene. It brings classic Canto chefs together with international chefs at the top of their game. Together they create one of a kind bites like this eel baked bun, a variation on the familiar Cha siu so with Japanese unagi instead of BBQ Canto pork. Thanks to chefs Hidemichi Seki of @tenkuryugin and Mango Tsang of @dynastygarden for a mouth watering evening. #dimsumduets @tdininghk #dimsum
Hello, how much is that vegetable? Today at our Hong Kong Market seminar we learned how to spot locally grown food, what ancient Chinese measurements still hold sway at the market, and how to find a reliably ripe avocado, not to mention three kinds of basil. Can't wait for our next expat event with @liv.magazine Stay tuned! Thanks to @littlecreatures_hk for the support and hospitality #livmagazine #wetmarket101 #kennedytown #locallygrown #hongkongfood #hongkongexpat
