אנשים בקמפוס: הכירו את מארי פרנסיס רמירז כהן. מארי הגיע לישראל מקולומביה בעקבות האהבה ונשארה: הוקסמתי מהמקום, מהאוכל, מהאנשים. היא הקפידה ללמוד עברית והתקבלה כדוקטורנטית בקבוצה של פרופ' דניאלה גולדפרב בפקולטה לכימיה. מארי כבר בשלבי הסיום של כתיבת התזה ועובדת קשה על פרויקט בתוכנית היזמות של המכון – WISE. עיצוב ציפורניים הוא תחביב שמארי רכשה בזמן האשפוז בבית חולים לפני שנתיים: אפשר גם להיות מדענית וגם לעסוק בדברים פחות רציניים – אבל יפים - כמו ציפורניים. את צודקת מארי – בהצלחה!

According to some estimates, up to one in three people around the world may experience severe anxiety in their lifetime. In a study described in Cell Reports, researchers from Prof. Mike Fainzilber’s group at the Weizmann Institute of Science have revealed a previously unknown mechanism underlying anxiety. Targeting this biochemical pathway may help develop new therapies for alleviating the symptoms of anxiety disorders.
