  • I couldn’t get the words out to tell them what I’d seen because the laughter kept bubbling back up rivers of tears down my face and even once I became calm the words couldn’t wrap themselves around the form of the one I had met and all I could do was open my arms embracing them all each in turn and all at once, and again, again - looking back, I understand words were not needed anyway to carry this message. . . . .   • The fire was warm And the air crisp that night The stars shine brightly The horizon in sight The sounds of nature Surrounded us only Were it not for the sheep We would be feeling quite lonely But there in the sky In a blinding array The angel appeared With the declaration to say Be not afraid oh herders of sheep For the savior is born He’s now a baby asleep He’s come to save all men The rich and the poor The strong and the weak He’s here for all . Glory to God! Us shepherds did say We gathered our things And went on our way For there was a baby That we had to meet The Savior had come We were to bow at his feet . . . .
