Another shipment arrived today and ALL are being delivered tonight. I’m expecting another box of 30 lab kits tomorrow. Most are claimed but I do have a few left if you know of anyone who may be interested. . These are COVID-19 Antibody tests to show your immune status and previous exposure (not diagnostic tests for current infection). They are FDA approved and are one of the few labs to show 100% specificity and sensitivity to the SARS-2-CoV strain without cross-reactivity. It’s one of the most valid tests on the market. Neither I, nor the lab company, are reporting to any database, ever! We are committed to your privacy. So far, 90% of those I’ve tested have shown previous exposure! Receive results in 2-3 days. Text (530) 518-4294 for more info.

My test results came back! And, although I’m expecting many more patient results to come in today and later this week, so far, 97% (32/33) of results have shown previous exposure to the novel SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) strain!!! . This is both intriguing (especially since I have not expressed symptoms of an illness since last summer) and relieving to so many. . For some this might mean they can let their guard down, confidently knowing they aren’t spreading anything to those they love, and get back to enjoying life again! . What would this change for you if you knew you had already been exposed and are not spreading the virus to others and now possibly immune yourself? Perhaps nothing? Or perhaps it would be just what you need to relax a bit. . I just ordered another batch of test kits and would happy to drop one off for you if you’re interested. It’s a super quick and easy process. No office visit required. $150 paid online with a free blood draw in Yuba City, Gridley or Chico. The results are back in 3 days. Both the Diagnostic Solutions lab and myself are adhering to strict patient confidentiality and privacy of all results and they will NOT be put on any database. . PS. After extensive research this lab has shown to be the most sensitive, specific, and valid lab available with the least false negatives or cross-reactivities. I am asked often by curious friends and patients about our adventures as homeschoolers— especially now that everyone is zooming their public school classes. How do you do it? Do you like it? Because my kids can’t stand zooming classes and I’m constantly scolding them to get their work done. What do your days look like? Can you work and homeschool? First, let me say homeschool is NOT the right choice for everyone. And it also does NOT look like zooming public school classes at home. At all. (Keep in mind that our activities, trips, field trips and out of home courses like survival skills/hiking class, gardening, music, art, photography, wood shop—like yours—have all been cancelled during this quarantine.) . A patient text me this morning and this was my reply about what our days look like as homeschoolers: . “It’s truly been the best year I’ve ever had with my kids. Ever. Yesterday we took a nature walk to our pond in the morning, found a cool thing on a stick we couldn’t identify. Came home and talked to my aunt who is a nature docent at a state park. She showed us a neat app called iNaturalist we could use to ask a nature expert or scientist about the identity of what we found. We discovered that it’s a praying mantis chrysalis for her babies. We drew it in journals, researched praying mantis, their lifecycle, how they are expert predators of insects, and watched babies hatch on YouTube. We wrote and illustrated a story book about our praying mantis babies. All spontaneously and all things the kids decided to do with my invitation. This morning the kids climbed in my bed and the dogs too. I said our dog was sitting like the Sphinx. The youngest didn’t know what that was so we looked it up to show her the Great Sphinx of Giza. Then decided to plan a fake trip to Egypt. On Trip Advisor we looked at hotels, flight costs, the best time of year to go and landmarks we would want to see on our trip. We noticed in a traveler’s photo of the the Cave Church, a slum area. The kids asked questions. We researched more and discovered it was a Garbage City slum of Cairo and that for all these years the Zabbaleen people collect... (...more in first comment below 👇🏻)
The CDC put out new guidelines for reopening schools this fall. And your local school boards and administrators will be meeting soon to come up with a plan for your kids based on this 👆🏻advise. If this doesn’t sound like your idea of the childhood education you dreamt for your children I encourage you to get involved. Speak up! Call your school board and join in on the planning. This sounds like prison, not school. Our kids deserve more from us 👫👫👫
I received a large shipment of COVID-19 Antibody IgG/IgM test kits for my patients and have a few left. These tests are completely confidential, and since I do not go through insurance and am not affiliated with any hospital, I do NOT send results to any database. You can rest assured your results are private and for your eyes only. . The presence of IgG antibodies confirms your exposure to the virus in the past and that you are immune to the current strain. The presence of IgM antibodies indicates a more recent exposure to the virus with immunity to the current COVID-19 strain. This kit tests for both IgG and IgM antibody types. You may have been exposed to the virus yet were an asymptomatic carrier (presenting no or few symptoms) as it’s estimated as many as 80% of those with antibodies do not recall being sick. An antibody test is the only way to be certain of your exposure status. . The lab I chose is Diagnostic Solutions (one of the top specialty labs in the nation), with extremely valid results, using whole blood samples, which have been shown to be the most reliable and valid results with far less false negatives than finger pricks or swabs. They also do not report results to any database and are HIPAA protected. . Kits are $150 payable by credit card online and I can drop the lab kit off at your home, if you live in the area, or arrange a pick-up. No need to be seen. You will take the doctor signed lab requisition and test kit to Valley Clinical Labs on Del Norte Ave. in Yuba City M-F between the hours of 7am-4pm (for a complimentary blood draw) or to Valley Clinical Labs in Chico or Ampla Health in Gridley for a $8.50 blood draw. They will send the blood to be analyzed by Diagnostic Solutions and the results will be sent to my office next week for you to access. . Let me know if you are interested in having a kit dropped off or if you have any questions by texting 530-518-4294 and I’ll be happy to help.

It’s fall, y’all!! And our family has just returned from an epic 30 days of road trips through the mid-west as part of our year of homeschool adventures! This fall I’m thankful for my amazing patients (who feel more like a family and have spoiled us with well wishes and gifts of homegrown veggies and homemade body products💕 THANK YOU!), Mrs. Bishop, our homeschool teacher who rocks the kids schooling so I can be at the office on work days, supportive friends and family, and phone patient visits when it’s necessary. I’m looking forward to a great season full of educational insights for you all and our kids!
