Discovered this little one in the woods near our house the other day. ❤️The best part was sharing this magical moment with my 4yo son, Jamie. Afterwards, he told me a story about a dream he had about being sad and alone in the woods until his deer friend found him and took care of him.
Our Tudor drink coasters feature 6 major Tudor figures, including this illustration based on one of the more favorable portraits of Princess Mary, the future Mary 1. She was born on this day in 1516 to Queen Katherine of Aragon and King Henry VIII. Have yet to get enough snow for sledding this year so I got my fix with this little drawing 😊❄️☃️ Swipe to see the pencil sketch and first layer of watercolor. I added the finishing details in Photoshop.
To joyful adventures with the people you love. Happy Valentine’s Day!
A little warm up in my travel journal today - George Heriot’s School as I saw it from Greyfriars Kirkyard in Edinburgh, June 2018.
Thank you @malloryrubin and @x_netw3rk_x for taking us on the beautiful journey of #BingeModeHP. I combined an adaptation of Mallory’s words from the final episode with my Harry Potter illos on a new @binge_mode poster. Back on 2017 I created a similar poster after the final podcast of the GOT season 7 (cannot wait for the final season!). In my blog link up top, you will find a free download to both of these odes to Binge Mode. For 11 x17 archival prints on luxe cover stock, there is also a portkey to my Etsy shop.
1 part background + 1 part doe, mix with Photoshop = Patronus Charm (swipe for the finished piece). If you are a Photoshop user like me and curious about the steps, I posted a mini tutorial on my blog today.
“He was stranded in the middle of a station with a trunk he could hardly lift, a pocket full of wizard money and a large owl.” -J.K. Rowling
“I love you more than Henry VIII loved all six of his wives combined.” There’s still time to send this funny Tudor valentine card! I also ship direct and can write a message for you. Available in my Etsy store and at ColouringTudorHistory.com

After turning in a design draft for one of my KSH print projects I had some time to bring out my watercolors again. I drew this with ink about 2 weeks ago but have been afraid to keep going. My favorite part is the tree. What does it say about trees that I feel completely relaxed while painting them? The lines are so forgiving and they get more beautiful with every twisty turn and knot. Thank you, tree.
