#FlowerFriday |The Pride flag was raised for the first time on June 25, 1978 at the Gay Freedom Day Parade in San Francisco. The flag was designed by the artist and activist Gilbert Baker and was hand-dyed and hand-stitched using the original eight colours: Pink = sex, red = life, orange = healing, yellow = sunlight, green = nature, turquoise = magic and art, indigo = serenity, violet = spirit. Today it still evokes the beauty and diversity of nature. Happy Pride Month! #loveislove | Photo @wildnorthflowers

Welcome to the Summer Solstice. Today, we move into a new season under the sun’s longest day of light. This is a time to focus on what’s shining for you now. Imagine that you are laying a dream down onto the altar of the universe. Allow it to be charged with the potency of the sun. If you can, step into the sun’s light today for a moment and open to its warmth. Set an intention for yourself as you do so: “My dreams are electric. My soul is a vibration. My heart is ready.” @lizworthtarot
#WellnessWednesday | This week @yourskincare_nd shares which foods to avoid if you are experiencing a thyroid disorder such as hypothyroidism. The biggest culprit are goitrogens! From the word ‘goiter’, goitrogens are naturally-occurring chemicals that are ingested via foods or drugs. These chemicals can interfere with thyroid function by stopping the thyroid's ability to produce hormones that are needed for regulating metabolism. Primarily found in cruciferous vegetables, these chemicals are only harmful when the vegetable is in raw form. Steaming or cooking them will eliminate the goitrogenic effect. This includes: cabbage, brussels sprouts, broccoli, broccolini, cauliflower, mustard greens, kale, turnips, and collards. But don’t worry! It’s not necessary to avoid them completely; these vegetables are filled with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Just make sure to steam them if you have lower thyroid function!
