A huge shout out to robotics team members Camille S., ‘23 and Ciara T., ‘22, who entered the VEX robotics competition "Make It Real" CAD Engineering Challenge sponsored by Autodesk. They created a piece that would solve a problem when building robots using CAD software. Using both Fusion360 and TinkerCAD, they designed a port protector. When wires get jostled around, motor ports are often damaged and need to be replaced. This is a waste of time, money, and resources, so they created a cover for the motor that holds the wire in place, displacing the force onto the wire, which absorbs it. . . . #ndala #regals #robotics

Celebrating 70 Alumnae: Jamie Linton Hello, my name is Jamie Linton and I graduated from NDA in 2014. My four years at NDA were some of the most precious and memorable times of my life. During my time at NDA I was involved in Queen's Council, Retreat Team, Yearbook Club, and I was a Kairos Leader. After graduating from NDA, I went on to Menlo College where I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management with a concentration in International Management. Since graduating from Menlo College in 2018, I was lucky enough to prolong my stay at Menlo as an Admissions Counselor. I have the ability to help incoming students throughout California with their college search process. I am also currently working towards obtaining an MBA with a specialization in Marketing from LSU. I will be completing my program this summer! Finally, I am so lucky to have made some of the best friendships at NDA. The rigorous academics and strong spiritual foundation propelled me to be the individual I am today. NDA empowered and taught me to believe in and follow my dreams. I am so grateful to my parents for sending my sister, Shari Linton 23' and I to NDA. . . . #ndala #regals #celebrating70alumnae

We are excited to share a screening of the documentary “Coded Bias” on Friday, January 15 at 7 p.m. Join our NDA community as we watch this important documentary on the biases present in artificial intelligence. Register at academy.ndasla.org! Take a look at our upcoming events for more information on how to RSVP. Coded Bias explores the fallout of MIT Media Lab researcher Joy Buolamwini’s startling discovery that facial recognition does not see dark-skinned faces and women accurately, and her journey to push for the first-ever legislation in the U.S. to govern against bias in the algorithms that impact us all. . . . #ndala #regals #codedbias
