Single-use refers to products – often plastic – that are ‘made to be used once only’ before disposal. Images of plastic adrift in the most distant oceans, such as straws, bottles, and bags have led to a global campaign to reduce their use. - #CollinsDictionary Photo via @paulwalkerfdn

Something big is happening. Stay tuned.
The well-being of our planet starts with YOU! #1PieceEach was created to make a difference and we're thankful to all of those that have decided to get involved. There are cleanups going on in South Africa, Montreal, New York and more. It’s just people mobilizing. It’s been a matter of citizens getting up in arms and caring about their environment.
Growing up, I used have my eyes peeled to the sand in search of shark teeth. I’d spend hours walking up and down the beach to find my treasure. I developed a good eye for the black specks buried in the sand. Now, I spot shiny plastics. As I was walking through the streets of downtown Tampa, I couldn’t help but love the attention. It’s not everyday a crowd of orange buckets pass through the business district. People thanked us but more importantly it sparked an interested. Setting an example is leadership. Rolling up your sleeves and showing the rest of the city THIS is what we have to do. You can reduce all the plastic in your life but it doesn’t stop the trash already created. You have to show up, clean up. It takes one piece each to make a difference. Be a leader, pick up that bottle on your way to work. You never know who might be watching. - @thegirlgonegreen #1pieceeach
The beach isn't the only place to conduct a clean-up. No matter where you live, we encourage you to get out there and get cleaning! 📷: @hardrocktravels
What is the New Plastics Economy? Within this initiative, plastic never becomes waste or pollution. Three actions are required to achieve this vision and create a circular economy for plastic. Eliminate all problematic and unnecessary plastic items. Innovate to ensure that the plastics we do need are reusable, recyclable, or compostable. Circulate all the plastic items we use to keep them in the economy and out of the environment. - @newplasticseconomy We urge more businesses to work towards this model. Which companies do you challenge?
Can we make it stop?! 😩😭 #1pieceeach #banplastic
We’re thankful for this planet and the amazing animals that live on it. Next time you walk past that piece of garbage on the street or on the beach, remember there are animals out there counting on you to keep their home clean for them. 🎥: @julioderegil

Wow, what a story from @jilliansvanadventure - 📍Mel’s Waffle House📍 at breakfast this morning, I ordered coffee, and Johara ordered a water. when the waitress came back with our drinks, a plastic straw had already been plucked out of the paper, and into her cup. automatically i knew I had to acknowledge the situation, and explain the affects of not only plastic straws, but #plasticpollution and how susceptible straws are to end up in the ocean. ✨ after my breakfast, i spoke to the owner and told him how he could make a great impact for our #environment by only offering straws upon request. with his approval i added one of my #1pieceeach signs that describes our movement of eliminating single use plastic, along with a sample metal straw purchased from #coffeetyme located on the Washington Street Mall🌿 ✨ today was a reminder that making a difference is simply just communicating with those around you, spreading #awareness, and doing something to benefit our #planet or those around you. i am incredibly fortunate for the passion in my soul that keeps me striving to be better to our home, and to live with positivity. live your dreams even if they are wild because there is nothing wrong with being you ✨⚡️ #motherearth #plasticfree #stopsucking #environmentalist #activism #ocean #life #makeadifference #adventure #getoutthere #thelaststraw #ellen #liveyourdreams #travel #spreadawarness #spreadlove #spreadlight

“Plastic pollution is a global issue. Period. - It’s easier to point fingers at others for the destruction of the planet instead of first holding ourselves accountable. But let’s be honest: we all play a part. The plastic we produce and purchase will either end up in our backyard or someone else’s after we throw it ‘away.’” via @kennaaloha
