  • Acclaimed photographer @markseliger had the unique opportunity to photograph the city that never sleeps during lockdown for a @vanityfair feature - capturing still and silent scenes that would otherwise have been impossible to capture with the daily hustle and bustle. We sat down with Mark to get his reflections on this once-in-a-lifetime project. Link in bio.

  • When asked why medium format supports the type of photography he does, @tony.hewitt answered: “These days, the majority of my fine-art photography work results in large format prints. High quality and high resolution detail, along with maximum color depth, are a high priority. Something that medium format delivers.” Image by Tony Hewitt on the XF Camera System

  • “I love shooting New Zealand’s landscape, because it’s so diverse and unspoiled. In one day, you can drive from lush rain forests and glaciers to barren rocky landscapes and wild majestic beaches. We kiwis are a patriotic bunch with a vibrant art scene, so it’s a popular choice to adorn our homes with New Zealand art.” - @peterlathamphotography

Peter Latham is a fine art landscape photographer from New Zealand who captures his country’s epic scenery in incredible detail. His photographs can be seen in private and corporate collections around the world, as well as, more recently, New Zealand’s Auckland International Airport.

  • @andrewling and his team found this 50-feet tall iceberg at the end of a 4-hour ride on snowmobiles from Portage, Alaska. Without something else in the frame, it would have been hard to show in the photo how truly massive this iceberg was, so he asked his friend Brian to stand in the frame for scale. Andrew shot this with the wide angle 24mm Rodenstock lens at f/7.1, 1/100th of a second, and ISO 200. “One of my favorite things about the Phase One XT is the accuracy of the colors it reproduces. It’s about as close as you can get to what the human eye sees, and there’s almost very little need for editing.” - @andrewling

  • Tomorrow we’re joining fine art photographer @marc_koegel in a special live webinar about black and white photography and Marc’s unique style. Sign up for 12 May 2020 1 PM EST at the link in our bio! —

Marc created the image above through an ingenious use of the IQ4’s Frame Averaging feature, by juxtaposing several hundred exposures shot within 30 seconds, while slowly moving the camera upwards. The look of the photograph was created 95% in camera, and all that was needed after was a contrast adjustment and a bit of grain.
