Check out this video from Principal Schenk as he gives a brief message on Unity. Unity has been distance learning now for several weeks and we’ve seen some great success with our approach. We’d like to thank students and parents for their continued support of our efforts to continue the mission of Christian education. Please continue to pray as we continue with our distance learning efforts.
Unity is not currently able to offer physical school tours due to COVID-19. However, please pass on the message to everyone who has an interest in Christian High School education and September enrolment to contact the school at firstname.lastname@example.org or (705) 792-6915. We will be happy to answer any questions and provide all necessary information by email or phone. We’d like to thank everyone for their continued support for our school and staff as we continue educating our students through distance learning.
Hey Unity Students and Parents! If parents and students need to come to the school building to collect textbooks, workbooks, musical instruments, clothes, anything at all that remains at the school, you are invited to do so anytime between 9 am to 1 pm on Tuesday, March 24th. We urge you to come, gather your materials quickly, and leave promptly. The school office will not be open, the teachers will not be at the school, and please do not use this as a social occasion to meet your friends or to gather in groups. We are being asked by the government and the public health authorities to practice 'social distancing', which is the main purpose of this extended March break to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Opening the school building for a few hours is intended only to allow us to offer guided learning in the time period of this school closure by giving you the opportunity to gather helpful materials and supplies. If you plan to come, please make your visit to the school a quick one and please do not interact with anyone else in the building when you are there. As was previously communicated, all students should ensure that they have access to their Unity email account. If you are not currently able to access it, then please send an email to email@example.com and Mrs. Running will respond to that with the necessary login and password information. We may expand into more sophisticated ways of communicating with our students such as the use of Teams (an Office 365 App), YouTube channels, etc., as time and circumstances warrant. We pray for God's blessing on our entire community, and we encourage you to support each other during this uncertain time.
Hey Unity Students!⠀ ⠀ Given the current situation with the COVID-19 outbreak, Unity will soon be implementing distance learning.⠀ ⠀ As we transition to distance learning, it is important that you have access to your Unity email address. Early next week, instructions on how we will be implementing distance learning will ONLY be sent to that email address. If for some reason you don’t currently have access to your Unity email, please contact Mrs. Running at firstname.lastname@example.org so this can be remedied.⠀ ⠀ We hope you are all doing well. Please continue to take care of yourself and your family during this time and monitor your Unity email for all updates.
Dear Parents and Guardians,⠀ ⠀ Given the recent announcement from the Ministry of Education to close all public schools from March 14 – April 5, 2020, we have made the decision to also close Unity Christian High School for those dates. As these developments are still unfolding, we will closely monitor updates from the government, public health, and Edvance Christian Schools Association.⠀ ⠀ Within the coming week, we will create and share a clear plan for how we can partner with you in learning support for students during the school closure. This will likely take the form of distance learning done by email and other electronic means. Please monitor your email inbox and encourage your children to monitor their school email accounts for additional information.⠀ ⠀ We’ll communicate more detail about our plans as soon as we’re able to do so. We know that there are a number of questions you may have. You’re welcome to send those questions to us for consideration in our school plan. Please recognize that we may not be able to respond to each of your emails individually.⠀ ⠀ Thank you for your patience and collaboration as we continue to support your children and their learning.
This morning, we were pleased to welcome Jason Weening, Director of Church Operations at Mapleview Community Church to Unity. Jason spoke to our students at Chapel this morning about how God has created us all for a purpose. We can’t just “sit around”, we need to live and love according to God’s purpose for us. We all have skills and abilities and God wants us to use them to build His kingdom. Jason used the analogy of an Axe — it’s created for a purpose just like we are created for a purpose, but it can be used both properly and improperly, for good and bad purposes. Thanks Jason for coming today!
Yesterday, Unity hosted the 2020 North Toronto District Speechfest competition. A total of seven schools participated, with students from Junior and Senior levels competing. We’d like to thank all of the students who participated as well as the volunteer judges who gave of their time. As one judge commented at the end of the event, Thanks for an amazing morning. We heard some really outstanding speeches. Of the three times I've been a judge, this was the best.” Below are the winners of this year’s Speechfest.
