Year 9 English classes were asked to demonstrate their research into Shakespeare's Globe theatre by imagining they were in the audience about to watch a play and write a diary entry of the experience. Here are some of the best, demonstrating not only excellent research but also impressive creative writing skills.

Year 9 pupils have just finished their topic on Consumerism in Home Economics. As part of this, they had to find out about the important role of The Consumer Council NI. Martha emailed her work to them and they were so impressed! They sent a lovely reply and a huge goodie bag! Well done, Martha, on your fabulous work and use of initiative.
In English, Year 9 have been researching Shakespeare’s Globe theatre and finding out what it was like to visit the theatre in Elizabethan times. They were then set the challenge to either create a replica of The Globe Theatre, or design their own theatre using whatever materials they wished. They certainly rose to the challenge and proved to be creative and imaginative using everything from cakes to Minecraft!

Monday 22nd June 2020 Re: Berlin trip refund Dear Parent / Guardian, Thank you for your patience regarding further information about the cancelled trip. As you are aware, I have been in regular contact with the travel company who have been working through the cancelled trips on a weekly basis. As mentioned in earlier correspondence, the school had paid £250 per pupil and held the additional payments from parents/ guardians in the school bank account. I am pleased to report that our travel company, NST Limited, has reviewed its cancellation policy and have refunded £100 per person. In the meantime, they have held the remaining £150 deposit. We are currently waiting on the refund to be deposited into the school bank account before we can begin to issue cheques. Importantly, NST Limited has confirmed that our return flights have been cancelled so we are hoping that we will receive a further refund at a later date. Further information will be conveyed to you in due course. Again, thank you for your patience and understanding throughout this process. Yours faithfully, M Addley (Teacher in charge of the Berlin trip)
