New year, new you??? Here’s how to survive the fitness game for the long haul in 2019. // It’s important to remember that after a break from training, whether it be 2 weeks or 2 years. Despite, best intentions, we have likely regressed slightly in our training capabilities. Rather than trying to pick up where we left off it’s a good idea to scale back our expectations at least for the next 2-4 weeks, and gradually build up our tolerance to training again. Things to consider are training frequency (days per week), training volume (amount of work done in sessions) and intensity (% of maximum capabilities). Over the course of the next 3-4 weeks aim to gradually increase your volume initially before increasing the intensity of the sessions.
