Today's @localicioushi feature is from The Veranda in Honolulu at @kahala_resort . As part of the @hiagfdn March fundraiser, they are serving the Kunoa Ranch Burger, which is topped with @smallkinefarm #organic crimini mushrooms, Big Island Goat cheese, and @maris_gardens greens with a balsamic reduction. Served with @sea.salts.of.hawaii seasoned fries.
March is a great time to eat local in Hawaii—it's @localicioushi! Look for the Localicious logo on menus around Hawaii. Each entree is made with local ingredients, and $1 from each order will go to fund @hiagfdn’s agricultural education programs for elementary school students.

In late January, we welcomed more than 20 ranchers to our Kauai ranching operations as part of the 2019 Hawaii Grazing and Livestock Management Academy, an educational outreach program of the University of Hawaii at Manoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (UH/CTAHR) - Cooperative Extension. The “field day” was one part of the three-day program offered every few years across Hawaii to help new and existing ranchers learn how to improve pastures and grazing management. — “The more we understand healthy ranching and grazing practices, the better we can sustainably feed Hawaii in ways that serve the best interests of our communities, animals and environment.” - Bobby Farias, President & Co-Founder of Kunoa. — You can read more about the partnership and rancher education at the link in our bio.
“I hope that other people, old timers, mentors, can help educate us or those coming up to understand what true ranching is about. It’s not a get rich scheme. It’s a livelihood. It’s a lifestyle that we live...” - Zanga Schutte, Z-Bar Ranch. Enjoy the rest of his story at the link in our bio.
