Kunoa Co-founder, Bobby Farias, takes a holistic approach to land stewardship for Hawaii in concentrating on: healthy land, healthy animals, healthy communities. If you take care of the land, the land will take care of you.
Meet Don Winters and his grandson Alex Winters, ranchers from Hawaii Island who supply some of Kunoa’s beef. Don has been raising cattle in Hawaii for more than 60 years; Alex has his eyes set on carrying on the paniolo tradition. Today, with the resurgence of full-cycle beef production in Hawaii, more of the cattle the family raises stays local and feeds their neighbors. With this change and by practicing rotational grazing techniques, the Winters are seeing the land improve and better grasses return. Better land means better cattle. It’s a virtuous cycle that supports not only a family business, but a way of life and a promise for generations to come. Full video and story available at the link in bio.
