• A Family Affair - 3rd Michael joins Mazenod

Mazenod is excited to welcome Sam Michael to the football club for season 2020.

Since playing u18s with the Oakleigh Chargers, Sam has been playing with Premier Division side De La Salle whilst also being listed with the VFL club Port Melbourne.

Over the last few years Sam has been a regular on the Senior side at De La Salle which has lead to several games with Port Melbourne and Big V representation for the VAFA.

Sam has great connections to our football club. His older brother Tim plays in our Senior side whilst his sister Elena plays with our Women’s team.
We are excited by what Sam can bring to our club through his on field experience.
Mazenod welcomes Sam to our football club and we look forward to seeing him line up in the Black, Blue and White along with his family for 2020.

  • The good news stories continue for the Nodders... Our new Coaching Director Marty McMahon hasn’t taken long to start his role helping secure Darby Allen a 195cm CHF from Maffra.

Darby has joined Mazenod OCFC for 2020. Darcy attends Deakin University like many of our current players and we think he will fit right into our playing group.

He has been recruited to add fire power to our Forward line and looking at taking some big marks in 2020.

We welcome him to our club.

  • The Club is delighted to announce the establishment of a new club leadership team for the next 3 years. In line with this, Gerard Noone (pictured right) will assume the role of President for 2020 with Matt Backhouse moving into the role in 2021 and 2022.
Gerard is a club life member, a former President, Chairman of selectors and senior premiership player. He has 3 adult children currently playing at the club. Gerard is currently a senior executive at Global Engineering firm GHD and brings expertise in the area of organisational change and management consulting. Matt of course is our current Under 19s coach and will transition to the Presidency after completing his coaching tenure in 2020.
They have already attracted 7 new people to key roles at the club and we will announce these new additions shortly.
Both Gerard and Matt see the Nodders as an ‘inclusive football club where our young men and women can thrive’.

  • Mazenod OCFC Annual General Meeting
Tuesday October 29th, 7pm
Mazenod College (Provence Centre)

We are fortunate to have so many great people associated with our Club, with a large number of volunteers giving generously of their time and energy. With only a few weeks until our 2019 AGM, we need ALL involved with the Nodders to consider potential involvement on the Committee for next season. Have a look over the various roles and get along to the AGM on the 29th. For further details on the 2020 Committee roles, or to nominate for a role, contact Chris Smith or Paddy McKenna.
