The difference between Business and Consumer connection
You can connect your Instagram account with LightWidget in two ways:
- using a Business connection,
- using a Consumer connection.
The Business connection uses Facebook Page to connect a Professional Instagram account – A Business or Creator account.
With the Consumer connection, you can connect any Instagram account with our app directly via Instagram. It is possible to connect Business and Creator accounts using this method.
The main difference between these two connection methods is the number of options available when creating the widget. A Business connection offers more options than a Consumer connection.
Business connection.
The Instagram account you want to connect must be a Business or Creator Instagram account. You must also link this account to the Facebook page.
Connecting your Instagram account using this connection method will redirect you to the Facebook website.
With a Business connection, all options in the widget creator are available.
Consumer connection.
You can connect any Instagram account using this connection method. You will be redirected to the Instagram website when linking your Instagram account.
When selecting a consumer connection, some widget creator options are unavailable – for example, displaying the number of likes and comments.
Some of the widget header options are also not available.
